Our go-to hotel in Muscat
Always a pleasure to stay at the Savoy Grand in Muscat. It is not grand, but everything works --- AC, fridge and hot water --- the beds are comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful. Only 10-15 mins drive from the airport, there is also a city bus from the airport almost to the hotel door. The Bamboo restaurant next door serves an excellent variety of food, and there's a good supermarket 5 mins up the road.

This hotel is located in a ugly, dusty , industrial , commercial area on the outskirts of Muscat in a majority Indian area.it is far from the downtown. The room was adequate,but very basic. The main problem I had was from the fellow residents making terrible noise untill very late at night: talking, shouting in the hallway, slamming doors.these people have no consideration for those who might be wanting to sleep. It was like that for the entire week I was staying there.you can't really blame a hotel for the behavior of it's guests but still, next time I will go elsewhere. I was tempted by the discount price but I guess that's what happens when you try to save money

Good value for money and good location
This was definitely a good value for money. Being one of the cheapest hotels in Muscat on offer, you can't really expect too much, but it was quite decent after all. Spacious enough, quite clean, good condition, very good customer service... and at least for me, the location was quite good. Muscat is huge and distances between the different points of interest are sometimes 15-20 km. Savoy Grand is just about 7-8 km from the airport and there's maybe at least 25 km from the old town, the palace, the national museum, Mutrah souq and the port. The hotel is very close to a public bus stop on the main highway that passes from West to East (from the airport to the old part of town). There are multiple shopping malls and places of attraction around that road, so it's really convenient in that sense.

Staff was very friendly, and helpfull. The hotel was cheap and good, but a bit far from main attractions. That should not be a problem though if you don't mind taking the bus.

Convenient hotel for the airport
A friendly welcome awaited me. I was able to leave my bags at the hotel prior to check in. The room was spacious, clean and cool. Location wise, there are a number of places to eat and drink nearby and the hotel is close to the main road that runs the length of Muscat which was ideal for catching the bus to the sights.

About average stay.
Check in was quick despite arriving late at night. Room was clean, however toilet had an unpleasant smell. Ideal for a one stay. Lift worked fine and took me to my 11th floor hotel bedroom.

Very good value for money, and staff were extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is quite far from the center, but very close to main bus station and main bus route in Muscat. A tip: taxis are very expensive but micro-busses run very near the hotel and are very cheap and run quite frequently.

The hotel was well priced and employees were helpful. I didn´t go to the hotel restaurant, but from the menu it looked like they had a decent variety at a good price. Bad points were the shower was extremely week and the internet was terrible, sometimes not working at all and the rest of the time very slow.

Peace and Quiet In Muscat
The Savoy is a great place to unwind, relax and prepare for the trip home. It is quiet and has large, very clean rooms. I loved it! There is an Indian restaurant and a Chinese restaurant next door. I will gladly return to the Savoy on my next visit. Great staff and very friendly.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport. It is situated off Sultan Qaboos Road which is one of the main roads running through the city and therefore allows easy access to landmarks such as Muscat Grand Mosque and major shopping malls etc. The check-in and check-out was effortless. However the reception staff did not make any effort to to have my luggage transferred to my room (perhaps I should have asked). I ended up taking the luggage to the room myself. The hotel room was spacious and was equipped with a full scale working fride/freezer, a spacious wardrobe, dressing table, bed and side tables, Aircon & ceiling fan, Satellite TV, Tea Kettle, glasses, cups, teaspoons and complimentary teabags, milk & sugar sachets for the tea as well as complimnentary water bottles. The room was remarkably clean and the bed was well made up. The room also had a balcony overlooking the city; accessible through a sliding glass door. The washroom was very clean, however both the toilet tank and water douche were leaking and therefore there was water on the floor all along. There were no slippers provided and given that most washrooms here are "Wet" type, it would make sense to carry washroom slippers if you decide to stay here. I only saw one elevator (max capacity of 8 persons) in the building although I never attempted to look for another one. It did serve my purpose satisfactorily as I was on my own. Available parking is limited

Not great hotel, linen and towels very old yellowish, kitchen cupboards all broken, sofa and chair with tear and need mending. Finally on booking page I see free Breakfast, but property did not agree on this.
