The check in was easy and quick. Room large, warm, clean and with ensuite bathroom. Staff were all pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good the following morning and they have a large car park to the side and rear of the property for off road parking. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would return without a moments hesitation. Thank you to the staff.

A pleasant hotel in an old building. Car parking on site. Large room and spacious bathroom. Food and bar onsite. Good location in small village for local attractions but limited public transport.

Understand that current owners have died and hotel is for sale as a going concern. Staff making valiant efforts to keep it going and to be congratulated. They are proud of its history and part of the local community. New owners will need to spend to update the structure

A most enjoyable stay in a characterful hotel
The hotel is a lovely old property, decorated and furnished in a way which reflects the age and character of the building without being slavishly traditional or old fashioned. We especially liked the local artwork displayed throughout. Our room was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom also very spacious. The sunken bath with shower was a good solution to the low ceiling height but would be quite difficult for some to manage. There are obviously aspects of the fixtures and fittings which could do with a bit of care and attention - eg. one of the discs labelling the hot and cold basin taps was missing and the other was loose and kept falling off. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and perfectly cooked. The large and easily accessible car park is a real bonus. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay at this characterful hotel in the centre of the beautiful village. Very good value for money.

I had a very comfortable two night stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast. The staff were very friendly (which matters when you are on your own!).

At 10-05pm we could not get a drink / night cap in the bar, after we returned from attending a charity concert in the Parish Church 5 minutes walkb away. The female staff standing in darkness behind the bar refused to serve us despite the fact I told her I was a resident in Room 3.. she closed up and left after gathering her belongings at reception. Will not return.

Good afternoonSorry to hear that but our Bar during the week closes between 22:00 and 22:30pm, and as you said she was in the dark because she already closed everything, we are really sorry to hear that you wont coming back because you couldn't have a drink after 10pm but we are a very quiet hotel and if there is no one around the orders is too close the bar, plus our main clientele is business people that wake up very early is why our hours during the week are not late hours. Kind regards

Lovely old building but room for improvement
Room was great as long as you didn’t want to watch tv as they seem to lack the necessary bandwidth. Same with the wifi - very spotty. Pretty room & very clean although bathroom could do with an update. Can’t comment on the restaurant as didn’t eat there in the evening but breakfast was good - as long as you want a cooked one, don’t do a proper continental breakfast.

I booked this hotel as I wanted to arrange a special anniversary dinner and the Raven has a two rosette restaurant. The meal was superb, as was all the food we had here and also the service. What a friendly and helpful team.

Such a friendly place! All the staff were exceptional. Beds comfortable and room spacious, although decor rather dated. Breakfast very good. Would stay again if in the area.

The Raven is a lovely little hotel, rooms were all good (we had 4 and they were all as good as each other). Staff were friendly and helpful, all in all a great stay thanks. Parking round the back is useful and quite spacious (We had a big van with us and it was fine).

A perfect stay from start to finish.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. You’d be hard pressed to find another hotel with such friendly, warm and welcoming staff. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, the food is fantastic, the wines are well selected. The breakfast offers a lovely selection, and the cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious. We were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived. I can’t recommend The Raven highly enough.
