Even our Standard Rooms come with comfortable beds, a private bathroom with hot water, air conditioning, a coffeemaker, a fan, satellite TV, and either a terrace or a balcony. In an upgraded room, you will find added amenities such as two bathrooms and phenomenal views. “A very surprising and great place to stay.”
I travel to Costa Rica frequently and this was one of those great finds that was the result of an unexpected change in intinerary. The lodge is located in the mountains above Miramar with an incredible view of the Gulf of Nicoya. It is family owned (a great story in itself) and everyone, from the owners to the wait staff to the guides, were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very large, clean, comfortable and had great views. There are lots of activities but we only had time to do the horseback ride/zip line and the ropes course and both were well worth the time and money. The zip line was especially great because of the 25 cables zig-zagging across streams and waterfalls. We even stopped at one of the pools below a waterfall for a swim. The food in the restaurant was great and was better than most of the food we had on our trip. One other note is that there is a very friendly and very beautiful toucan that hangs around the open air restaurant (I'm sure for the free handouts) and provides a great photo op but will try to eat your shoes or fingers or whatever else happens to look yummy.
“Cool place, nice people”
I stayed at the Hotel Vista Golfo for 3 days/nights with my 3 kids. We went ziplining and horseback riding here, and otherwise just hung around the pool and the beautiful deck and explored the trails around the property. The owners and staff were very nice and there is a comfortable, friendly atmosphere about the place, although I did find that the accomodations were somewhat spare and they were unapologetic about running out of all kinds of things at the restaurant (beer, wine, desserts, various ingredients to menu items, etc) and didn't seem at all inclined to either try to get resupplied or adjust the prices. On the whole, though, it has a safe, family feeling about it--like you're staying with friends--so the not-so-luxurious aspects of our stay didn't seem to matter.
“Awesome views!!!”
This is an older hotel but very clean. The staff were wonderful. The food was delicious. The zip-line was a blast !!!! The views are unbelievable.
