I liked the old school vibe of the property. It was quiet and clean. While not offering several amenities like a pool it was a good value for the money.

I don't think the carpet had ever been shampooed and there were quite a few spiders on the carpet, The bed was lumpy and soft, Tried to make coffee with what was there and I couldn't taste whatever came out into the pot.

The booking engines expects me to respond. What does one say? Over five years with booking on line, my Staff rating is 9.2. My Cleanliness rating is 8.4. My Comfort rating is 8.2. Every now and again I get a 2 or a 4. The beds are Serta Perfect Sleeper box and mattresses with Pillowtop softness. The carpet worn, although clean and the spiders might (?) be dead, as I have a pest control person spray the rooms and the exterior regularly for ants and spiders. I sit on five acres and we are almost out in the country. The coffee machine has the prepackaged 4-cup Italian Medium Roast coffee. I'll let my fellow traveler's read the reviews and make up their own minds. This is a motel at 57 per day, without all the bells and whistles. Viewers read on. . . James, I wish you safe passage and a restful sleep, wherever one chooses to lay one's head.

Perfect place for my needs. The owner was extremely friendly, rooms were clean. He was extremely helpful of telling me where to eat at in McCook. He has a dumpster and and an area to clean birds. As soon as I walked into the room you could tell how clean it was. The room had a fridge,tv,microwave and coffee pot.

Ron was very nice upon check-in. He seems to be a good guy just trying to make a living. Great location for a No-frills Motel. Checked in and had to ask for cleaner as there was food still on microwave and counter. Ron offered to clean ot, but i thought i could do a better Job. Floors had not been noticebly vacuumed and had Goat heads anf other debri all over the floor. Definitely had to keep shoes on at all times. This was also a room with 3 beds, the 3rd beds boxspring was destroyed making it impossible to sleep on the 1st night. Ron did change the boxspring when brought to his attention and said he did not notice it. The bathroom did NOT look as if it were cleaned at all. I had to go to Walmart and purchase shower cleaner as the tub/shower was filthy with footprints and soap remnants. Tub also did not drain; when brought up, was given a plunger. Bathroom sink was dirty, with shaving remnants and the Toilet was filthy with urine all down the front of it. Great location, quite place but definately not clean. Would expect more in the middle of a pandemic.

Owner was a really nice guy. He made sure that my room was ready with the ac on before I arrived. Bathroom was really big. Overall, a nice play to stay.

Perfect for what I needed on my fishing trip. Ron the owner was awesome in showing where to go in McCook for dining options. Peaceful setting a couple of blocks off the highway. Will go there again when fishing the local reservoirs.

Ok for the price. Very basic. The Cedar Inn is poorly signed.. just says Motel. Directions did not get us to the actual hotel. Not very close to town amenities.

Thank you for your comment. I am the most reasonably priced property in town. I am a "Mid Century Modern Motel" built in 1930 and expanded in 1950. Rooms have been remodeled, but still the basics; refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker in the room. The red neon sign that says "MOTEL" is in my courtyard as one drives up the lane. (I think I'm the last remaining neon sign in town!) The "CEDAR INN" 'McCook's Quietest', yellow sign is out on the highway, some 1 1/2 blocks away. Sorry you had difficulty finding the place! McCook is a rather small town, about 2 square miles and most of the eateries are downtown, which is 12 blocks away, about a five minute drive.

The hotel is old and run down. While our room was fine (with a slow air conditioner and one dead roach). Relatives also there with us moved to another hotel due to air conditioner going out and one with a noisy roof vent.

The Cedar Inn is a motel with outside doors, one level. Not a hotel with indoor corridors to guest rooms. The motel was built in 1930 and an addition was added in 1950. The rooms have recently been renovated with new bathrooms, tile floors and the noisy roof vent would have been the bathroom vent above the toilet. There is a switch to turn it off. The rooms are all self contained HVAC's for heating and air conditioning, so no other "noisy" outside vents. The roach would have been a water bug. We do not have roaches. We professionally spray monthly and it DOES kill the critters we have out here in the woods! The other air conditioner simply needed to be reset and the guest, nor my sister who was relieving me at the time, did not know how to do this. Housekeeeping the following morning reset the outlet and the A/C was back to normal. Sorry your stay was not to your satisfaction. We did not charge the party whose A/C would not work and we allowed the sister to move to the other motel to be close to her family. -Ron Tompkins, Cedar Inn owner/operator

OK Budget Motel
The owner is very nice and helpful, but he doesn't get into any hurry so patience is a virtue. This is an old motel and there are few frills. Highly recommended for hunters & fishermen. Huge ice machine is a bonus. Comfortable beds.
