Do not stay here - checked in for two nights but didn’t even stay one night - renovation work going on all over the hotel, dirt and dust everywhere, tables and chairs being put together all day so lots of noise outside the room and had to go into town to find a quieter area to use wifi and work, other furniture stacked up in communal areas of the hotel. Genuinely did not feel a safe or comfortable environment to stay in.
Agreed with reception staff that I would check out the same day and they agreed to process refund the next day.
Got home two days later and refund had not been processed. Emailed the hotel three times over the course of a week and did not receive one response - all contact completely ignored.
Asked Expedia to intervene and hotel told them they would not refund despite telling me when I checked out that they would process the refund.
All of this is just basic good manners and customer service that you would expect any hotel to provide but to essentially lie that they would refund and then not do so, is inexcusable.
All of this is without even commenting on the state of the rooms with old, tired and chipped furniture, small dirty bathrooms and communal areas - the whole place needs renovating - but they should not be accepting guests whilst doing so.
If you want to pay good money for a poor hotel and even poorer customer service, BC Spa is the place for you.
Took multiple phone calls and a lot of persistence to get Expedia to eventually make the refund.
