Room was in the basement of a nearby building so I had to go out into the street and along to the main building to have my breakfast. Very basic accommodation but served its purpose. Staff were friendly, however, it would have bee nice for the male member of staff who booked me in at Reception, in the basement of the main building, to have carried my case, to the other building I was actually staying in, rather than watch me struggle with all the stairs!

I loved my stay at the Morgan. Each of the men on reception were warm and helpful. The place has the atmosphere I’d hoped to find in London. I had a single room just one floor up from the lobby and found it cozy and pleasant.

The hotel is close to the Tottenham Court Rd. tube stop. It's 2 blocks down; very walkable and easy to get to. The hotel itself is tired looking. It is in need of revamping and refurbishing. BUT, we don't care about that stuff when we travel. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot and the included hot breakfast was very good. We are easy travelers. Things that might make others cringe (in terms of facilities) don't bother us. We are in the room to sleep and shower. Things to consider if you are one that cares: There are no elevators. It is an old, Georgian house; narrow and tall. In fact, the hotel is more than one building. Our room was in a different house down the street from the main hotel building. A quick 30 second walk. The water pressure for the shower was terrible...but it was hot. I am willing to overlook that. The room was always comfortable but we didn't seem to have control over the temperature. It was a pleasant 69 degrees the entire time but, when we did try to raise the temp on the thermostat, nothing happened. The bed coverings were warm and none of us were too bothered by the coolness. (A rainy, windy night led to the coolness) Overall, the room suited our needs and the food was good. I'm not dreaming of going back but we didn't hate it.

We really enjoyed the location! Breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was pleasant to have a solid meal each morning. With 3 kids, it felt good to balance out the cost of eating out with complimentary breakfast, for sure.

Affordable comfort
The Morgan is top ranked for what it is—a basic hotel for the economy minded traveler who appreciates a high standard of sanitation, a comfortable bed, and a good breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful, too. I have stayed there twice and plan to return, as the location is excellent—around the corner from the British Museum, with bookstores and pubs galore, and easy walking distance to other attractions.

Great location 5 mins from tube, easy checkin, luggage storage, comfortable beds, lovely breakfast and great staff. On the downside main stairwell needs wall repairs finishing and redecorating, and carpet is slightly threadbare in places. Generally room furniture tired, some damp patches, bathroom shower needs updating.

The room turned out to be an apartment in a historical building!! It was huge and super clean!!!! Staff was so nice and friendly they were helpful carrying my luggage to my room since there is no elevator. I would definitely stay here again next year.

Very disappointed with our room, it bears no resemblance to the pictures on your website. The curtains were worn and tatty, and mould was all round the frame. Would not choose to stay here again. If I had booked direct I would have demanded a refund.

The pictures used to advertise this property and not anything like the rooms we stayed in. Wall paper hanging off, toilet door that didn’t slide very well. Very dated! I know you pay a premium to stay in London, but I would have expected a lot better for my money.

The location is great. Just a few minutes walk from the British Museum and UCL. Check is was probably the fastest I have ever experienced. Very efficient. But it is a dated hotel. Room that I got was really small, no desk to work on and all feels really cramped. It was on the ground floor and the windows were not locked. The shower pressure was okay, but mould in several places. Toilet needs work (kept flushing). Don't expect amenities. Breakfast was good and fast. Overall a good hotel in a nice location, that could be better with a bit of attention.
Room is tiny, no desk if you need to do work. Bed very soft, and if you are taller than 6 ft, you will have a problem.
The safe is indeed there, but too small for a laptop.
Breakfast is served fast
Shower had mould, can use an treatment...

My room was in a separate building from the reception. Room was lovely but shower was small. At the back of my room was a small courtyard and I was lucky to see a squirrel there. Downside of my room was I could hear doors shutting, plugs being put in sockets, people talking and mobiles go off. It was adequate for my stay and it was in walking distance for British Museum and Shaftesbury Theatre. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

All the basic requirements are met with this one.
Great little place. Nothing fancy and no frills but great sized rooms and central location with helpful staff. I think I may have found my ideal place close to the office for future trips! One of the few places in this part of London that gives you good sized space without costing the earth.

Hotel is situated in a great location near to shopping areas, theatres and museums. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and practical. We were in the main building in room 201 which was surprisingly quiet and kept cool even in the heatwave! This is a great find for a couple of nights stay in central London.

Perfectly adequate. Price is right and near Tottenham Court Rd and Holborn tube stops. Street is a little noisy and room was not as nice as pictured. Could you a refresh, update. Did not stay for breakfast. Near British Museum as well. Fine for one night.
