Interesting place, but overall condition of the room was a little rougher than expected based on photos. We booked it in a hurry for just one night, and didn't realize until after we left that the room we were given was not the one we had booked. We booked the King Studio Colden, and ended up in the King Studio with Fireplace, which was quite different in terms of the bathroom and a few other things. Seems silly that it took us that long to figure it out, I know. Had we realize sooner, we would've asked to be moved. On the positive side, the staff were pleasant and the breakfast basket was very nice.

Eastwind in Lake Placid, NY, is a gem for pet-friendly travelers like us. The staff's attentiveness made our stay memorable, and we adored the breakfast basket, perfect for two. Our dog felt welcomed with a thoughtful gift and a handwritten note. Check-in was a breeze, even late at night. Although there was a small stain on the bed sheet, we didn't bother changing it due to our late arrival. The hotel even gave us dog-friendly food recommendations. Overall, we rate Eastwind 4.5 stars and look forward to trying out the sauna on our next visit. Highly recommended!

I loved how unique and homely the property was both around and inside our room. It was so comfortable and felt like I was truly out in the middle of the woods! The breakfast was also really tasty and very cute! I was a big fan of the customer service and how welcomed we were.

The staff was incredibly nice, the rooms/property are goregeous and peaceful, and it's a short walk away from the main town. This is the place to stay in Lake Placid!

We did a quick overnight to go for a long hike and enjoy the fall colors in Lake Placid. We found the room very well decorated and cozy. Our dog was very comfortable too! The property was well utilized and though we didn't end up doing the sauna, it looked great. My only issue was our room with the soaking tub didn't have a shower and the hand held didn't have any control to turn it on and use that so taking a bath was the only option. Not a dealbreaker! I would definitely have booked a different room had I known there would be no shower/shower head in addition to the tub. Otherwise great!

We had a large, comfortable room at the rear of the hotel with a gorgeous view! The room has a quirky decor, featuring vintage furniture and matching decorative items, creating a fun vibe. The bathroom has been up-graded. Outside there is a fire pit, encouraging guests to mingle. We recommend the breakfast basket, which arrived at the designated time with lots of fresh goodies and hot coffee. Our biggest complaint was the lack of TVs, which was frustrating for us on the night of a big sporting event.

We checked in late but the staff made it very easy despite us getting there after hours. Our room was very clean and comfortable with thoughtful decor, and we loved sitting outside by the fire pit.

It's called a hotel but it's more like a Bed & breakfast experience, newly updated and renovated. Staff were very inviting and the grounds are interesting and quirky. Room was very comfy and bathroom was beautiful. The only drawback is there are no fridge or microwave in the room, so if you arrive late there's no way to heat or store your dinner. Other than that it was a great place to crash after each of our 2 days of hiking through the spectacular Adirondacks. We even caught the tail end of a ski jumping contest at the Olympic center! overall very good.

Lots of cool features we didn't get a chance to enjoy such as bar, fire pit and sauna. Room was spacious, but didn't have a TV (no worries...we streamed Fubo on our tablet)! Gas fireplace was nice (texted staff for help starting it). Bathroom was great for us, but may be tight for taller/larger folks.

This is my second time staying here, this time I went with my partner. It was incredible, we had the best time. The room is clean, cozy, well kept and the perfect environment to have a romantic and peaceful getaway. The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s a safe and quiet location. The attention to detail is impeccable and the perfect place to stay. We will be returning again very soon!

Eastwind Lake Placid is a gem! We loved how close we were to hiking, fishing and dining. The property is quiet and beautiful. We loved our room, the sauna was great, and the campfire and s’mores was a treat! Everything was easy from check in to check out.

We loved the property and our room - nice, updated, warm, modern feel. The room was clean, the bed was confortable. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend it. A couple of notes - the pool was not in service when we visited though there is one on the property. Wish we had a chance to try out the sauna but we were tired and only stayed on night. The property is located outside of downtown, so if you're hoping to be in the centre of things, you are about a 15 minute walk instead - or try out one of the bikes they lend out! That being said, there is a coffee shop across the street and it's closer to Big Slide Brewery, so there's plenty of conveniences around. And it's significantly quieter, which I found to be a bonus. Two suggestions for the property owners: 1. Better signage in the parking area pointing toward check in would be greatly appreciated! We wondered around for a while before we found it. 2. We wish our bathroom had better lighting - there was just one very small light over the sink and nothing for the shower. We checked in after backpacking in High Peaks and I realized when we went to dinner I had missed a small bit of mud on my leg because I couldn't really see much in the shower! Overall, it's a fantastic property - I highly recommed it and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I wish we had another day or two to enjoy the sauna and check out the town a bit more. Maybe next visit!

Water pressure is for the birds
Staff were great. Friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Had trouble getting online and he was wonderful. Breakfast was well worth the $30. Fire pit was a nice touch. AC worked great.Bathroom was not as clean as I would expect. Walls and floor were dirty. Hairdryer was sticky. No TV. No phone in room. Water pressure was terrible. Took me twice as long just to get the soap out of my hair. Toilet was lacking water pressure too! No wash cloths. There was a pool but not in use???Summer??? No sign/directions on property to head you to office to check in. Had to call for help. Another couple had to do the same.
