Loved the position, enjoyed the spa and we had, in the main, some delicious evening meals.
However...it was very bleak at times to be the only guests dining, apart from a party of , 'Chinese '(?), who were seated at one end of the large dining room.
My husband is gluten free, and although we explained this at length, we still had to send food back occasionally despite constant reminders. Food on these few bleak nights tended to be below par but twice we were moved to the a la carte restaurant ...delightfully cosy and the food was sublime. Breakfasts were good..pleasant choice but fish and meat etc needs to be covered.
The majority of the restaurant staff were reactive rather than proactive with two exceptions..Lucija and Mirko gave exceptional service and we left with a genuine fondness for them.
The rest of the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Our room was spotlessly clean...fabulous views, liked the period features ...but it was spoilt by the dull dreary fabrics and wallpaper which sucked the light out of our room.
All in all a good stay...but only good.
