Probably one of the nicest, if not THE nicest in the area. But be aware that it can be very windy day after day, which is why this area is a Mecca for kiteboarders (I am, wife is not). Otherwise, super great complimentary full breakfast , and lunch and dinners were very affordable. One suggestion: have coffee available for guests before 7 am. Seems to be common in CR, but waiting that hour between sunrise and your first cup of java is rough!

The area of Guanacaste is beautifully wild and this is a comfortable place to enjoy it. It is fun to watch the kite surfers on the beach and the whole place feels clean, safe and family friendly. I wish the room had a couch or table and a microwave or stove. I really loved how we were in the Costa Rica wilderness yet enjoying a nice place to stay.

The property was poorly maintained. No hot water at all. No ice for guests unless you went to bar, also no coffee until 7am in restaurant only. Pool area was dirty and not maintained. Very bare minimum room. Don’t stay here! We left after 1 night, with no refund!

Staff was excellent. Rooms need updating (we stayed in a studio). Bed was adequate (appreciated the feather pillows). On premises restaurant food was good. Room drapes are “tired” and not very functional, can only be partially closed. Room decor rather spartan. Pool area decent, separate wading pool for children. Most of the landscaping is currently dry (i.e., no irrigation of the grass area), but it is the dry season here. Property has access to a small beach area, but we did not use it due to the very windy conditions while we were here. Management appears to be trying to do a good job, property just not quite there yet.

El hotel tiene muy buena ubicación, el estado de la habitación deprorable, cama sin respaldar, el aire acondicionado hacia mucho ruido, en la ducha siempre quedaba agua estancada. Reservamos un studio y la habitación no correspondió a la que solicitamos. Importante no se puede comer en la habitación salvo que sea del restaurante. En la habitación únicamente encontrará cama, sofa, mesa de noche y televisión.

Birthday Celebration Trip.
The hotel is nice, but it has some things to improve. The room a little dark. There is no double curtain, and if you draw it, others can see you outside. No privacy. There was low water pressure at night. The prices at the restaurant were high compared to the portion of the meal. The service waiter was well even her personal presentation was not the best, so she had a hole in her work T-shirt. Finally, the day we checked out of the hotel, I found a Scorpion in the room.

The experience was lacking compared to what we are accustomed to when traveling abroad. The beds were very hard. The pools were small. Nothing at dinner was what we expected (not in a good way). BUT... for the price of a ramada inn stateside, the location was beautiful, the staff was accomodating, and we still woke up in Costa Rica.

The property was great. The beach accumulates trash and ocean debris so not a pretty beach for swimming but good for bird watching. Pool was nice, food was pretty good, but not the best. Very quiet resort at the end of April. Needed rudimentary Spanish to order dinner, check in hosts were bilingual. Our Spanish was poor but we had a very kind and patient server in Alex. Was great to practice with him. Mattress was very firm. Would stay again for the same price.

I did like the quiet at night and the food at the restaurant, good balance between price and quality. Rooms were clean and comfortable (we stayed at a family one). The hotel could improve the "gaming" area next to to the restaurant because it was messy and full with rooms furniture. From November unitl April is a windy place and the sea is cold so, be careful on how to arrange your travel plans.

IT IS ALWAYS WINDY (10-15 MPH WINDS) THE BEACH ACCESS IS WORTHLESS FOR SWIMMING. EXPEDIA'S PRICE IS NOT FINAL, EXTRA CHARGES MIGHT APPLY AT ARRIVAL. THIS LOCATION IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE AND THERE IS NOT TOO MUCH GOING ON IN ITS CLOSEST TOWN. ROOMS OFFER ONLY BED AND TOILET. HAIR DRYER, COFFEE MAKER, MICROWAVE, AND SMALL REFRIGERATOR ARE NOT PROVIDED. COOLERS ARE NOT ALLOW INSIDE THE ROOMS. THE RESTAURANT STAFF WERE EXCELLENT (NICARAGUANS AND COSTA RICANS)

Better than the $600+ resort down the road!!
We had a split trip between here and an all inclusive down the road, and every one of us (5) agreed this resort was way better! I will admit I was hesitant by the lack of information on their website, but the restaurant was delicious, the drinks were great, the rooms were beautiful, and the resort overall is very relaxing. Sure this isn't a party resort with activities, but this place is great to just relax by the pool or on the beach (which never has more than 1-3 people on it). Our only complaints were the beds in our room were hard (but my parents said their room had very soft beds) and that ants/bugs would come into the room at night. We just sprayed bug spray along the underside of the door to the room and it was fine.

The property is well keep. I rented a nice 2 bedroom with a kitchen counter (unfinished stove top) (not offered as a villa yet). There was an issue with flushing that couldn't be fixed but they were able to move us to another room quickly. This is a place for resting and exploring. It's quite and the beach is windy. There are plenty other nice beaches to visit and explore within the 10-25 min ratio. Breakfast is excellent. Restaurant is good too, moderate prices. All staff was very friendly.

Fueron 5 días de vacaciones familiares, la relación precio-valor está magnifico. Desayuno variado y abundante, la habitación estandar es bastante amplia para 4 personas, se puede hacer Kayak y Kitesurfing por precio adicional pero son accesibles. La actividad del Año Nuevo estuvo muy bonita, desde las 7:30pm hasta las 12:15am. Las playas cercanas son muy lindas (El Jobo, Rajada, Junquillal) Volveriamos a hospedarnos aqui en otra ocasión.

The hotel is in a beautiful area and hhe beach is amazing. The rooms are a bit dated and missing better accomodations. We booked a room with two queen beds but got a room with a full and a twin bed instead. The staff is friendly but lack some training. The pool area needs a bit of work. The restaurant food was ok, some good dishes and some not so good. Breakfast is the best meal by far. I would come back for the area and the price.

"What are we going to do when you're gone?" This is what manager Ruiz said to us before leaving. Management and staff treated us like long-time friends! I'm cherishing that Costa Rica vibe after our 2 week stay with Nandel Beach Resort near La Cruz. Every morning & evening walk on the beach was a new experience surrounded by nature. In between, we had pool time, more nature walks exploring the area and taking kiteboarding for the first time. Thank you!

Staff was extremely helpful in all aspects of our stay. Rooms were comfortable and larger than expected. Restaurant made dining convenient and menu was varied. Only downside for us was the person staying on the floor above us was up and making a lot of noise in the middle of the night and you could hear them walking back and forth at 1 am. We would definitely return but ask for a second floor room to avoid that happening again!

The property is nicely located by the ocean but you can't really swim there. It's very windy. The hotel is a bit ran down but cute. It wasn't properly cleaned all the time but it didn't bother much. The restaurant was good but there were nothing else available.

Wonderful, charming experience!! The room we had was spacious, "rustic-tropical" and exactly what I expected from a hotel in Costa Rica! Shower was warm, but not hot. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The restaurant was delicious (may I suggest the fish with shrimp sauce!), waitstaff was wonderful and patient with non-Spanish speaking guests. There are also a couple other little delightful restaurants close-by if you want to venture away from the property. It was so nice to experience some of the local flavors! The beach was lovely and had access to other little private beaches. The water was a little colder than expected and the Papagayo winds were sort of non-stop & unexpected but were appreciated with the heat of the day. The sea birds put on a show every day! The sounds of the birds in the courtyard and the howler monkeys down the beach made each day very special. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area again!!
