From Ku Kuan, Taichung is 9 miles (14 kilometers) to the west, and Taoyuan is approximately 55 miles (89 kilometers) to the north.
Consider using Ku Kuan as a base for further explorations. This much-loved region has been blessed with a wealth of terrific natural and man-made attractions. Some interesting places in the vicinity of Ku Kuan are Fuli, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the north, and Puli, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the north.
About 9 miles (14 kilometers) to the west of Ku Kuan is Taichung, a regional center home to Wan He Temple, Taichung Confucius Temple and Shr-Hwa International Tower. Don't return to Ku Kuan until you've visited Taichung's Taichung Metropolitan Opera House, Fong Jia Night Market and Taichung City Hall.
On a fine day, head outside to explore Taiwan's open-air markets.
