This hotel is elegant! Comfortable and clean. Great breakfast every morning, beautiful garden/pool area just the other side of the casino. Many choices to eat and drink. Best of all is the awesome service in every area of the property. I really enjoyed my stay.

Bed bugs/dust mite dilemma
Our check was at 3pm, we arrived at 4pm to find out that the rooms were not ready yet. We were asked to return at 5pm and to our disappointment had to wait another 30mins for the reception to receive feedback from housekeeping. Eventually we checked in, and was told maintenance will be coming to fix a leaking handbasin. We walked through the passages that reeked of tobacco smoke!! Rooms are tiny for the price we paid; the worst experience was the tiny little bites we endured soonest we slept on the beds which was most uncomfortable, too soft and wobbly mattress with very thin duvet ; clearly poor quality linen! Hardly slept through the night due to the severe scratching from the dust mites or bed bugs as we couldn’t hear or see one mosquito.

Very good breakfast and location for my purpose (close to airport, to RSA office and CP premises). Availability of diverse resto options at Emperor Palace. Just difficult to access the pool as have to go for a long walk

First 3 hours after arriving the aircon wasn’t working on a 30° day. At night the speakers outside the main entrance and outside my window and by the lifts played music until 4 in the morning despite multiple visits to the front desk- no sleep! Room next door ordered room service and the tray was left on the floor outside for 24 hours - dirty

Emperors Palace mondior Hotel
Room OK.. Bit tired but has everything including fridge. Tea/coffee making. Iron. TV etc and full bath with shower. Excellent bedding and pillows. Great pool at 5 star sister hotel.. Spent a lovely

Fun, convenient hotel for a JNB transit.
Quick shuttle ride to hotel, although it filled up quickly on a Saturday. Check-in process was quick and staff is friendly. The casino and surrounding restaurants are fantastic as well as the buffet breakfast. We’ve stayed here around 5 times now while transiting through JNB and always had a great experience.

Every time I stay the showers always leak on the floors so you need plenty of towels to mop the water up. The extraction fan in the bath room is very noisy and it runs all the time making it very noisy at night. Everything else was fine. Thanks

Totally unacceptable
It was dreadful I reported to the front desk that the air conditioning was not working. They said they would report it to maintenance to come and fix it. At 9.15pm I went in person to the front desk they assured me that it would be fixed. I asked for another room as it was unbearably hot. We waited until 10.30pm and the air conditioning still hadn't been sorted. For the amount of money that was paid the situation was completely and utterly unacceptable.

Poor case management
I was charged twice for my room. No one would give me a receipt or come forward with a truthful explanation on what happened. If there is a trainee who has made errors this should be communicated to clients . I now have to wait for 7-14 days for a refund.

Probablynthe worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
Terrible. Easily one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Incredibly bad value for money - this was almost R3.5K for the night. Room was like a box with a dripping toilet. Eventually got moved to another box next to a staff room. Noise all night. Never ever ever again.

Perhaps introduce a car lane for hotel guests at the entrance. Guests shouldn’t have to pay entrance fees if they are a guest at the hotel and can provide proof of hotel accommodation.

Whilst the hotel was fine, our experience has been soured by a double charge for our room, through both Expedia, with whom we booked, and Gulliver's Travels, who we do not recognise. We have referred this back to the hotel by email, but after 48 hours have had no acknowledgment. On our previous stay, a similar double booking was remedied by staff. Have we been scammed?
