“SUITE WITH QUEEN BED !”

My husband and I found the queen bed "suite" extremely small as was the bath. Very little room to store luggage. No room for even one chair in the room. View of beach was around and over a building. We only stayed 2 nights. Otherwise OK - parking convenient, breakfast average, microwave, fridge & TV in room, balcony overlooking pool (on 3rd floor), clean rooms and public areas, courteous staff.

“"Satisfied at the Seaside"”

The value for the room was great. The staff was very accomadating and from check in to complimentary breakfast to check out all was more than satisfactory. There is a great restaurant next door and the beach in back of the hotel was pristine. The Seaside was chosen due to it's proximatey to The Ritz Carlton which was the host property for the Concours d'Amelia Island car show. The Seaside is a relaxing and lovely hotel and I would certainly stay there again.

“Small but nice.”

I had read the other reviews about how small the rooms were here but wasn't quite prepared for how small they really are. Based on the size of the rooms, this should really be billed as a "boutique" hotel. Other than that, I was really happy with it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby is nicely decorated and not in the cheesy beach style you usually see. The location was perfect. It is right on the main beach. There is a bar/restaurant right next to it that is pretty good. You have the beach, food, and drink all within a few steps of your room, as well as a beach store across the street. What more do you need?

“Good Beach Hotel”

This hotel was booked for 1 night as we had left early to drive down futher South in Florida because of snow and had never been to Amelia Island before. Because it was low season the hotel was almost empty. The receptionist was very helpful. The facilities and room were very good and the hotel is very convenient for a longer stay on the beach. The historic town center with good restaurants is nearby.

“Would get a bigger room next time...”

Great location! We definitely did not expect to walk in to a room the size of a closet though. We couldn't even open the bathroom door all the way. The walls are very thin as well. Considering the price though, we should not have expected more. The breakfast was great and the staff was cool.

“By the Ocean”

Arriving very late at night and being tired we were at first upset by the size of the room and lack of a dresser or closet for all our clothes. The staff immediately helped with a pile of coat hangers. Slept well, comfortable bed and in the morning discovered that we were beside the ocean and had a great view from our balcony. Continental breakfast was fine, with a waffle maker, eggs, sausage, buns, juice and good coffee. The staff all proved very friendly and helpful. What started out as a worry ended up as a most pleasant stay. We would go back.

“Great Stay!”

Pleasantly surprised. I understand the smaller rooms can be quite tight, so I did ask at check-in for an upgrade to a larger suite and they were able to accomodate me. The room included a bedroom area as well as a sitting area with counter, stools, mini-fridge, sink, and microwave. The bathroom was quite large with double sink and full tub/shower. Breakfast is included. During the week, it's toast/bagels/oatmeal/cereal/pre-packaged muffins. On the weekend, they pull out all the stops with biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage and made to order waffles. Great location as it's just a few steps to the beach, and a few minutes to downtown. Staff was very accomodating and helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

“Great Off-Season Value”

For a fraction of the peak price, treat yourself to a mini-vacation off season n Amelia Island. The beach is still there, with plenty of birds and shells and virtually no people. The Seaside is, in fact, seaside, with at least some ocean view from even the smallest and least expensive rooms (one of which we chose, since we were arriving late and leaving next morning on our way south). The studio queen was entirely adequate for our needs, and a bargain at the price. It might have seemed confining after a few days. The flat-screen tv worked fine, but the wall mount looked like an afterthought. The bathroom had no tub, but the shower stall was quite roomy. Cold cereals, microwave oatmeal, bagels, etc., in the breakfast area got us started in the AM. Not a lavish spread, but, hey, we paid half of what we would have in one of the 'name' motels.
