“Awesome for honeymoon”

We went off-peak season and had the whole place to ourselves. The staff were so nice and went out of their way to help us. The service was truly fantastic and the food was consistently delicious. We loved the small size of this resort and the luxurious amenities. Big fans of the Tides!

“Would definitely return”

Very restful grounds with excellent service. Food a bit pricey compared to other high end- offerings in the area, but good if you want to stay in one evening. Immaculate, beautiful grounds - no sense of crowding at all. Rooms large immaculate, if a bit old. Cautionary note - this hotel appears close to town, but the beach toward town is interrupted by rocky outcroppings and the hotel backs up to a cliff road, so walking to town is more of a challenge than it appears. La Perla restaurant just down the beach is an excellent value for breakfast with your toes in the sand. In general one of the best locations I've visited in town - would definitely return!

“Zihua par excellence”

The Tides is a fabulous hotel on the Playa La Ropa. We first experienced the comfort and the service of this amazing place some 25 years ago when it was a small Villa Del Sol Hotel. It was and is a place to relax and savor the unhurried lifestyle of Zihuatanejo. Upon arrival at the airport it was a great service to have a representative greet you and arrange a taxi to the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, Rodrigo gave us a tour of the grounds, describing the three swimming pools, the exercise room and its amenities. We loved the rooms and the softness of the bed, and the pillows. Being so close to the beach was great and truly enjoyed the evening walks with my wife.. We had the continental breakfast with the sumptuously strong coffee, fresth squeezed orange juice, the various danish. There was enough papaya, pineapple, melons, to share. She even tried the cucumber, spinach parley shake and loved it. Our last dinner there was memorable for the freshly grilled huachango with sweet potatoes, corn and a lovely liguine diavolo with fresh shrimp , pine nuts with tomato sauce . We topped it with tres leche cake and helado. The wine selection especially the Nogal chardonney , and the Baron Phillipe , Carmenere were very good with the food. The Tides allowed us to stay over as our flight was not until 6:00 pm the next day. That is truly service. We have recommended the Tides before and will continue to do so as on e of the truly great hotels in mexico.

“We couldn't have imagined a better honeymoon...”

The service at the Tides is the best we have ever experienced. We went there on our honeymoon in November and it was perfect -- the food, the beach, the impeccable room and grounds. The staff is the best, incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a great place to relax by the pool or beach and do nothing but there are also plenty of nearby activities like snorkeling and kayaking. Get the breakfast and dinner plan if possible - the food here really is the best in town and most days you won't want to leave. The tables on the beach are amazing...

“Beautiful Hotel”

We had a great time and everyone at the hotel was pleasant and accommodating. The only complaint I had was a squawking bird at 7AM in the morning, it was a bird they had caged on property. The food was delicious and I couldn’t get enough of the guacamole and chips. I can’t wait to go back!

“Exquisite Tropical Paradise”

Villa Del Sol operates on two simple principles: everyone there is dedicated to providing the best experience possible and they want you to return. The setting is truly a tropical paradise; the staff service and treatment is impeccible; the food is superb. Everything is thoughtfully developed and executed; guest comfort and well-being is paramount. Candelit dinner on the beach is unforgettable! We will definately return!

“Paradise!”

Beautiful beach. Gorgeous hotel. Very quiet. Impeccable service. Delicious food. I cannot think of one negative. We stayed in the least expensive room and were more than impressed. A suite would be remarkable. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and wonderful at what they do. We thought we would leave the hotel for dinner at night, but we never wanted to. The restaurants were great! This is heaven on earth.
