Amazing again and damn it smells so nice. Car park is tight but free and great for rental.

Nice hotel with good size rooms. Helpful staff. It’s about 10 minutes walk from the Capitol Shopping Mall which has everything that you may need. There are also local shops within 8-10 minutes walking distance and numerous eating places around the hotel, as well as a Metro station. The sea front with ferry terminals and Bosphorus is about a 25 minute walk.

DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION - ELECTRICAL FAULTS
I was electrocuted by the shaving mirror's light switch. It was awful. I could've died. The cleaner knew this was a problem when it was reported to her as a warning before she went into the room. Reception were useless. They accepted liability, they also know, and offered me a cup of coffee for my trouble. I am exploring options for the immense distress and psychological anguish I have suffered and the loss of my normal function in my right arm. Absolutely mad situation.

Reception is not kind and low service skills
The staff in the reception was not very kind, unfortunately they treat people from U.S and Europ better than people from middle east or other countries. Thay should have self confidence and human values for treat people kindly and give the service in the best way, especially it is an expensive Hotel.

Great hotel. Very quiet and in a good location. Few minutes walk to restaurants. 30 min walk to the Bosporous.

Hotel is about 15 mins 45 lira taxi ride away from the main area of city where the train stations and ferry ⛴ stops are and the market and hustle bustle , hotel is nice with nice pool and sauna , the reception staff are perfect especially one with glasses ( sorry forgot his name ) very helpful ,

Good location in the Asian side of Istanbul, close to the Europe side, and you can find everything around you: markets, restaurants, a mall and a pharmacy. However, I didn’t like how the housekeeping staff could enter your room without permission. You will have to make sure to turn on the red "do not disturb" light otherwise the staff will enter your room to clean even if you are in the room sleeping. As for the reception staff, they were all incredibly kind and eager to help.

Great family hotel
I would definetley reccomend this hotel to anyone. The only concern was the customers. Reason i am adding this, if you dont have any issues seeign people who had an surgery (nose and hair), you will be fine. Because half of the geusts were staying there who is having an surgery. Otherwise , great service.

What a nightmare
I had a very unpleasent stay at this hotel. I had stayed more than 11 nights and my sheet did not even changed once. Also it was a shame to see holes on the sheet and duvet, which is not acceptable for a 4* hotel. I do not recommend this hotel for leisure, because everything is wonky. The service is awful. I have asked a bottle of water from reception, it did not arrive at all, even though I asked several times. I had similar issues with cleaning. I had close contact with my fiance who had covid at that time, I wanted like to have minimum contact with others, since I do not speak Turkish, my faince’s family ordered food to my room. The hotel harrassed me each time when the food arrived. I do not say they are very helpful and understanding to their guests who are under special circumstances. Apparently you can bring take away to the hotel but cannot get delivered.

Dear Mr. Mann, Thank you for taking time and bringing your experiences to our attention during your trip at Mercure Istanbul Altunizade. First of all, We would like to inform you that as a result of the interview we held with our team members about the negative experience you had, necessary measures are taken to prevent the same situation from happening in the future. According to our records, you had 2 stay in our hotel. Your second stay lasted 11 nights and the do not disturb (DND) light in your room was on during 8 days of your stay, for the remaining 3 days we have been able to clean your room twice since you did not ask for cleaning for the remaining third day. Since your DND light was on, your room was called periodically by the reception to check if had any emergency or if you had any request. We do offer 1 complimentary water per day for our guests, but water could not be left in your room because your DND light was on. All necessary actions would be taken immediately if you have submitted your complaints directly to us. As you have been informed during your stay, due to the hygiene regulations valid in most of the hotels globally, we cannot accept food orders from outside in any circumstance. Toilets smelt of sewage. Horrendous even though they changed our room it was slightly better but still smelt. Also, the one way route when coming in by car is a nuisance as its a one way. During the day there is immense traffic and even though by walking from the holiday inn side it would be 20 seconds the traffic adds about 15 minutes to come back round and park. I have stayed here previously and it was amazing but it has gone down severely. The SPA even though doesn’t belong to the hotel tried ripping us off with teo different prices (Turkish and English) Bali massage 550 tl but next day when we went they showed us only euros which they listed the Bali as 55 euros

I did not expected much, given relatively low rating of that hotel, but in general it was OK. Linen and towels were clean (but old), WiFi signal in my room was fine and I was able to connect to my work servers without issues. I had a corner unit and it was a bit noisy because of the non-stop pressure car wash meters away from hotel during the day and wind, blowing through the gaps between the frame and the balcony door. Smell in the bathroom was unpleasant at times. And finally, one of the guys at reception decided to cheat me during currency conversion, but apologized and corrected the bill. Be prepared, local currency exchange rate may change few times during the day and employees may use it in their advantage.

Dear Ibrahim, Your feedback is very important to improve our quality service standards for us. We would like to inform you that all linens goods was changed the beginning of this year. Some of the voice, noise and smell could be annoy for our guest during their comfortable accommodations at this situation our reception team would be happy to change your room with the room of the different side of the hotel building. We are sorry about its because if you had reported this during your stay, we could change your room. Your pleasure accommodation is the valuable for us. Also we would like to inform you about our system. Sometimes the currency rate may be changed quickly in our country. But our system follow the TC Central bank exchange rates. The system take automatically the day of the before closed rates. So the currency changing within day doesn’t effected to our guests. We have to follow our legal obligation for the payment and billing. The system prepare the billing only Turkish Lira but you can pay with Euro or TL. If you pay the all amount with Euro, the currency rates isn’t effected your payment.
