I recently stayed at a hotel that left much to be desired. The overall cleanliness was appalling, with grimy surfaces and questionable stains. To add to the discomfort, the absence of a bathroom inside the room was inconvenient and disappointing. The shared facilities were no better, showcasing a lack of maintenance. Definitely not a place I'd recommend for a comfortable stay.

Had a room with 3 beds. It was clean and comfortable and very close to takseem. Bathroom is shared with others. Not bad if you are on the budget.

Stay away from there. Its awful place. Everybody using common toilets and showers. Dirty place. Good place for sickness. No proper curtain on the window. No air conditioner. No fresh place. Waste of money...

You need to know that the shower and the toilets are NOT private as it may understood from the pics and the concise text, they are public, and in each floor. That is my only problem with this hostel. And it was a surprise, because i didn't get it when i booked a double bed room. Besides that, the stuff was SO nice and welcoming, they clean all the time so even if the toilet and the public area become unpleasant, it is very quickly being fixed, and they make sure that people will be quiet and consider others in the evenings. The location is superb. The guy that work their most of the day's hours is Shadmal, a beautiful soul, very kind and friendly. He made the entire experience into a pure pleasure.

I had booked the property via different website but the review would be same. To start with I had booked a single room. Instead when I arrived they gave me an entire dorm room for myself. So I had to share bathroom and toilet with others. The building is old, which is okay but not enough is made to keep it clean. Bed sheets were dirty. The toilet was dirty. Shower had water clogging. Not enough pressure on taps etc. And just one bathroom and toilet for 3 or 4 dorm rooms. Which is 12 or 16 people. I would recommend this place only if you have no other option.

Nice Place to Stay
Its an excellent place is the heart of Taksim and budget friendly. Staff was nice and welcoming. The only thing I would expect them to improve is in terms of service, there was no towel & AC remote in my room so I had to went all the way down from 3rd floor and 3 times to follow up for a towel, whle I was already late for my event. It took more than an hour to get the towel as there was only 1 person in reception and he was busy in checkin guests. Normally to arrange it better it should be kept in room in advance. The WiFi didnt work at a times at night, but otherwise it was fine. The place is small and not as shown in the pictures. I booked a single room but the bathroom was not attached. This information was not clear in the description while booking. The place was very clean

Great staff and good location
The property needs a little more love, but this is compensated by the friendliness of the staff. Always there to help! The common spaces are also clean. We overall had a great stay there and the location is perfect near Taksim Square and not too far from Kabatas.

This was my first time ever staying in a hostel and it was such a great experience! Amazing social hostel in a great location, excellent atmosphere. Really enjoyed my stay here - excellent facilities and everything is always clean. Already looking forward to my next stay at Wake up!

I like the way they behave with customers, it was our first visit to Istanbul so we didin't know alot about what should we do and where should we go, so we just asked them and they helped us with precious information. From the bulding there is alot hotels better than it but i think it worth the price.

The staff made us feel welcome and really tried to be friendly and helpful, however, the building is old and run down and needs to be cleaned better.

The internet conection was terrible. The condition of the property was bad. The staff was nice. The bathroom was clean but in terrible chape. Beds were not good. The room was hot and there was only a fun that was not working at its max.

Great Hostel with friendly & helpful staff.
The staff were really very helpful and the location of the hostel was tremendous. The beds were fine. For the money, I found comfort and security that I didn't really expect. Having a 24/7 reception is very nice. Best two star Hostel!

Best price to location around.
It sure was amazing and was my second time staying here. Istanbul is a beutiful city and when we missed our flight, we gave it another shot to Levanten and Istanbul. We didn't walked around this time but we had a nice night at the Taksim street.

My brother and I stayed here for three nights and we really enjoyed our visit. The staff was very helpful and quickly made us feel at home. The free family dinners each night were really good (especially the kofte) and were a great way to meet people. The rooms/facilities were nice, and the hostel is close to a metro to get to the more touristy areas if you aren’t up for the walk. Overall, we had a really great time and I would definitely recommend staying here.

One of my favorite hostel. I stayed here earlier in the summer and came back again for few more days in Istanbul.Hostel locating at the center as it gives me chance to explore best bars of this city.Plus it is just right by Taxim square and metro or 5 minute walk to sea.
