I loved the nostalgic elements of the property. It was clean and furnishings were update. You could tell they were a lovely destination hotel back in the day. They were kind enough to upgrade our room when they found out we had been married the day before. There was no elevator to our floor however which was fine for us but could be problematic for others and there was no hot water. But all in all, we enjoyed our stay. And of course the views are breathtaking.

Wonderful Staff!!!
From the person who checked us in, to the maids, to the breakfast staff, they were all such nice and welcoming people. The hotel was about to close for the season. We were ready to go to dinner when we arrived in the evening. The front desk clerk told us that there was an employee party going on and that we were invited to eat there, so we did. Such a wonderful spread and delicious food! There were crab cakes, seafood pasta (including lobster), a carving station, and many more options. There was also a dessert table that offered many different sweet treats. The employees there were very welcoming too! We also enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs by the lobby fireplace and roaming around the gorgeous property. We would most certainly stay here again!!!

Nice but way too expensive.
If you are a history buff, this is a grand old inn and you will love it! But, for the price, the musty smell and lack of modern amenities disappointed a little. Also, for the price, there should have been complimentary breakfast.

It’s an historically intact wooden structure with a fantastic huge pool. They do need to repair stuff - wood wiggles in more than a fer places. Excellent chefs but need to better staff for the off season

We very much enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was that we were at the end of the hall next to a party suit. There was a conference taking place while we were there and there was a large party in the room next to ours two nights in a row. They were very loud until midnight. We were very grateful the restaurant was open late each evening as we were out late each night on our bikes and most other restaurants were closed by the time we came in for the evening. We also really enjoyed the restaurant food. The breakfast sandwich was very good. You have a beautiful facility and we will probably return.

Like the close proximity to Falligwaters. The food and service were excellent as well as cheerful and friendly staff. The facility is a little worn , but is beautiful and provides a warm and cozy ambiance.

This is an awesome turn of the century hotel/destination. Super fire place in lobby for drinks & relaxation, especially in early spring and fall. Very nice outdoor patio, overlooking the valley. Great nearby historical destinations. At hotel, fun, easy very scenic mountain top golf course. Two Frank Lloyd Wright home tours, Fort Necessity, Youghiogheny River white water rafting, bike/hike trail. Too much to describe. Really didn't want to post this message. Prefer to keep it our secret destination!!!

Lovely Historic Summit Inn
It was a great place to stay - loved the historic nature and all the porches and places to walk, both inside and outside. The restaurant served delicious meals, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Summit Hotel is quite unique! It has a view like no other and has many places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The lobby is large, old, and charming. The rooms are nothing special, but they are clean. We loved eating dinner at Mae’s and having breakfast at the hotel. as well.

Great ambiance and views!
Very comfortable bed. Cozy room. Loved the lobby and Steinway piano in entry foyer of lobby. We were grateful for the A/c unit in rm as it was stuffy & humid weather. One drawback was a dirty ceiling exhaust fan in bthrm. Would be great if there was a mini fridge in the rm, but we grabbed ice frm downstairs lobby for our cold beverage needs. Wonderful property, but def get a workout climbing stairs to rm. We are def planning to get back and book a suite next time rather than a standard king rm. It’s a small space but ample for two. The staff were very helpful and friendly at check in. Wish we had more time to try the restaurant. Next trip for sure! Gorgeous views!

Historic building which translates to NO elevator. Room on third floor, so not convenient. Shower tub floor a little slippery, no grab bars. No coffee in room nor lobby. A little pricey for all of that. Food in dining room was excellent.

Disappointed in condition of hotel
The room had not been vacuumed and bathroom was not really cleaned. I used disinfectant wipes on bathroom floor and they came up black. Tub had small pieces of dirt in it. We checked in at 4:00 a.m so were not able to have room cleaned once we were in. We just wanted to go to bed. Air conditioner smelled like mold. But the nighttime front desk person was very nice. Just disappointed with the condition of the hotel. Seemed like public areas were not vacuumed also.

Historic Summit Inn
The Summit Inn is located in a beautiful location with views everywhere you turn. Sitting on the porch watching the sunset was amazing! It is convenient to many of the attractions and restaurants in the area.
