Tiny kitchen, no freezer (lost half my food), scarce selection of crockery, 4 stove elements for the entire hostel. Bathrooms with dirty towels and garbage. Constant noise waking you during the night. Drunken tenents harassing you.

We stayed in a private room, with its own bathroom. Excellent option for the budget conscious. Everywhere we needed to go was within ten minutes strolling distance :) Highly recommended. We would definitely stay here again :) :)

The hostel is centrally located in Hobart. That is it's great advantage. However that does come at a cost as it's located on one of the busiest streets in Hobart, both day and night, with large trucks as well as cars passing. Beneath its many rooms and dormitories is a bar. It's a very nice bar, but its patrons can be very noisy in the late evening. The hostel staff are friendly and efficient and do their best to keep the hostel clean & neat. Some of their guests, however, need a lesson or two on social living and how to pick up and clean up after themselves. The common room and kitchen are small and workable. Large common spaces are unnecessary in a town with a wealth of affordable and pleasant places to eat, drink and play. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to a return visit. Hobart certainly has a lot to offer.

Staff super helpful and friendly, very handy location to markets. Private ensuite rooms, nicer sheets and room facilities (ensuite, fridge, tea/coffee making, and wardrobe) than the share room. Share family rooms, very basic. Although no off street parking, parking station and free street parking was not too far or expensive. Recommend booking early for markets as private rooms get booked out fast.

Well situated to commercial and tourist areas of interest. As independent travellers we enjoyed the flexibility and choices we could make around visits to historic sites and options for dining experiences. Helpful staff onsite.

Location was FANTASTIC! The only downside is that the hell can sometimes be a bit loud (woke me up but that’s because I’m a light sleeper). Apart from that, staff, cleanliness and cost were second to none!

Great location in the heart of Hobart, really close to the museum. Kitchen was too small, had to wait till 10pm to be able to cook dinner. Noisy as it’s on a busy road.

Great location. Met our needs.
3 girls in a mixed room. My sis booked girls only but we forgot so we were given a room with a male so partly our fault. He didn’t come in but it looked like he lived there and we were kinda waiting for him to show up all night. It was a typical YHA. Great location for sure and met our needs. Just a bit awkward.

Was in a good central location and staff were excellent. Property was tired and needs an update. Rooms small and facilities eg kitchen and laundry small. No lift so carry bags up a few flights of narrow stairs. But staff fabulous.

Expected worse - first experience was OK.
First stay at a YHA. Very nice and helpful staff. Great location. Our private, ensuite room was separate from shared rooms and facilities and was quiet. However, the property is pretty run down and needs a major upgrade. Common kitchen is small and had many flies. Sheets and towels did not smell or looked clean.
