Food at this pub is excellent. The rooms are very peaceful and clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming, I would stay here again. Highly recommend this place.
It was in a convenient location for our visit to the area.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Love the location and the old charm, the staff is obsoletely phenomenal, the pub menu is very good. service is fast and friendly. The room was clean and nice but black mold in the bathroom sealing and in the closet made my stay unpleasant. it's not just unhealthy but could be an indicator to a neglect by the owner
Enjoyed my stay. Cheery Tree was great. Traditional Coaching Inn with low beams and a cosy fire side. Good food. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff and owner took time to share a woodland walking guide with me
Great little spot for a short stay. The room was nice, comfy bed and all you need for a short stay. The family running it are also friendly and accommodating.
Kat and her hubby run a very good operation here, nicely presented very reasonable priced rooms, good choice of beers and wines,in a lovely country pub set up,with open fires and a big welcome….returned the next day too have a drink, always a place to revisit if in the area ….thank you
The room was spacious, clean and well appointed although I would have liked a chair under the desk. Although there was a problem with the heating on arrival the proprietors speedily fixed it.The evening meal was very tasty ( perhaps they could find a better supplier for the shellfish as there was literally no meat in the shells) with an excellent choice. Breakfast was similarly very good - freshly cooked with ample choice - we had the full english which was plentiful. The young couple running the pub were excellent, providing a real community ambiance. Fully recommend.
Excellent room, warm and comfortable. Also available in the room was good selection of beverages with milk stored in a mini fridge. Very good breakfast selection, which caters for all.
Loved the sense of continuity with the past.
Wished there had been more attention given to the needs/preferences of Vegans when putting together and presenting the food offerings.
Had a 1 night stop at the Cherry tree it was in outbuilding next to the pub, it was very comfortable with all the amenities, staff were extremely helpful and friendly would definitely return again.

A mixed experience
The main pluses of the Cherry Tree are its location and the friendliness of the staff. Though our room showed no sign of being cleaned during our stay.
The room was OK, if a little small, with a comfortable bed.
The biggest disappointment was the food, which was just not good enough. Burnt toast and overcooked fish and chips should not be let out of the kitchen. Having eaten in the pub on the first night, we then ate elsewhere.
Very friendly staff and locals. 5* food with fresh veg from their own garden and bread from a 5* local, artisan bakery..... very tasty! There is a lovely beer garden and marquee too.
The owners and staff were absolutely amazing and nothing was a issue for them. It felt like home from home.
I would like to thank the warmth the entire team at cherry tree provided. Especially during the hot climate.
