Fall Getaway
The property is located on a quiet, beautiful lake. We loved sitting on the dock to look at the stars and to watch the sun rise. The home is well stocked and has some thoughtful touches that made it extra special (a hammock, a portable speaker, life jackets, etc.).

Expect the unexpected-in a good way.
The cabin was great and well supplied. Weather could have been better, but hey! Fishing is unextected in the fall...you never know what you're going to have.

Girls weekend getaway
If you are looking for a quiet place to hang out, this is the place. Convenient dock and water access. Nice bar & restaurant at a resort 1 mile away. Very friendly people.

cosy cabin for our winter retreat
We spent four days tucked in this charming "vintage" cabin, situated on a beautiful lake mid-March. During our stay we snowshoed to the Big Island, roughly a mile from the away. Thanks to fresh snow, we snowshoed and x-country skied some of the numerous trails around Hayward. The cabin is small, but it was perfect for our needs and was well stocked with supplies. Everything was clean and well organized. We received at least 12" of snow during our stay, and the owner was prompt about plowing out the long driveway. A great winter getaway that provided a place to rest.

A-MAY-ZING!!
This was our second year staying at the cabin. We fell in LOVE with it last year,( after going through 2020 without a vacation). Last year it was our hideaway, getaway. AND... we were able to bring our doggies. It was the last trip we had with our Airabella dog. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma the week after we cam back and passed over the Rainbow bridged 6th 2021. Many good pictures, videos, and walks. This year we have a new rescue doggie ( along who went last year). We had a restful, uneventful, relaxing time. We are looking forward to next year! I tell ALL my friends and Daycare families about this place❤❤ This

Relaxing time together
We didn’t have great weather but we’re still able to fish, have a fire, grill, take the dog for a walk or two and head to town for cheese curds. We watched movies, read books and loved the comfort and coziness of the cabin. Lake Nelson is beautiful and the fish were biting! This cabin was just what my family needed to wrap Up our summer.

First time with a VRBO. Seamless check in. Had a small bacon frying incident that set of smoke detector. Propery manager texted to find out if things were okay. Yup. Not used to electric stovetops. Only question is to potability of water. A sign in the property says plates and utensils are not sanitized and gives a recommendation as to how to do this. Unsure if this is a COVID related proceedure, drinking and rinse water, or just a department of health requirement. Either way no issues. Very cool coffee mugs. Very enjoyable albeit too short of a stay.

"From the owner: "The water is potable; it is tested for bacteria by the County Health Services annually, as part of the licensure process. Additionally, the utensil sign is a requirement of the County Health Services and has nothing to do with the specific condition of flatware at the cabin. Third annual Dad’s get away with the kids
Everything was nice, neat, and in excellent working condition. Plenty of space for the six of us. Overall, there were no complaints from the kids, but I wish that the grass would of been cut so there could of been a little less mosquitoes.

Cozy Family Cabin
Great experience the entire stay. Cabin has pretty much everything we could think of and need during our vacation. Fully stocked kitchen, furnace, fireplace, grill, washer and dryer were all very useful. Property manager was very helpful getting us more propane quickly when the grill run out of propane. Highly satisfied with our stay! We made sure to sign the guest book too! 😊

Long Weekend Away
We had a great time getting away at this property! It had great waterfront access to watch the beautiful sunrises over the lake. The host has towels, linens, and kitchen utensils all readily available. The property was very clean and well kept. The check-in/out process was clear and their guest guide was very helpful. We very much enjoyed our relaxing anniversary weekend away!

Had picked property for the fireplace. Wasn’t until after booking confirmed there was a note fireplace was non operational. Very disappointing. Cleaning fees quite high for property. Was clean, comfortable queen bed.

Not too big, not too small, JUST RIGHT
This is a Wonderful cabin! It had just what we needed for a quiet, peaceful, relaxing few days. Even though it was overcast and rained we could sit out in the Sunroom with the dogs. It has games for all ages. The WiFi was great as well as the movie selection on the TV. Can't wait to go back next year! Thanks for the MUCH needed R &R!

Cabin on Nelson Lake
The weather cooperated and we got to enjoy a weekend here in early October. The fall colors were EXTRAORDINARY!! Also, my wife and I stood on the dock that first evening after we unpacked, and within the first 30 minutes on the bench there, we had a bald eagle fly overhead and heard some loons call out across the lake! Good: Dock, quiet, bathroom well stocked, laundry onsite, screens in good condition, loons, great TV watching. Suggestions: ) Please repair the slamming main door which should be a very easy fix. 2.) Remove from the checkin description-- " Near Can Crusher" because it does not exist . Instructions for access to keys: Inside main door to your upper left on wall. Otherwise, all good. Very clean place.

A slice of heaven on a lake in Wisconsin
The cabin is charming and well decorated. It was very clean, well stocked and organized. We had great use of the kayaks and paddle boat. The outdoor fire is great too. They really have thought of everything. It’s like a home away from home. Would definitely highly recommend this place. The owner was also very responsive to any questions.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cabin! We primarily went for fishing and Nelson lake did not disappoint, even right off the great dock on site! The cabin was extremely clean, cute, and well appointed, and the property managers were very helpful and attentive to answering questions! Would highly recommend a stay here and would love to go back!

Awesome lake
We had lots of fun boating on Nelson Lake. Cabin had nice furnishings and we really appreciated a supportive mattress in master. Wish we’d have brought a hammock. Only critique is picnic table could use a power wash. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us and being per friendly!

Beautiful Lake- Cozy cabin
Nelson Lake is beautiful. We stayed on a cooler weekend so we weren't able to swim but the water was clear. Heads up for other travelers, this is a well water property and the water had a brownish tint so we ended up going out to purchase our own bottles of drinking water. The living room seating is limited (3 comfortably) so if you're planning on more people than that watching TV, you will have to sit on a bench in the kitchen. Pictures did make it look larger than it was.

Winter Weekend Stay
Bedding, towels, furniture all clean and updated. Complimentary soap and shampoo/conditioner provided. Checking in was a breeze. When we arrived, the lights were on and the cabin was warm. The reason for our stay (husband/wife) was to get away from the Minneapolis area, hang out with just us, put together a new puzzle, drink coffee (quietly with no kids), and binge watch a few shows. Mission accomplished. Property was very quiet (winter time). Driveway and property were plowed and shoveled, level and flat, so grabbing our bags and walking right in was easy. We ate out mostly, but kitchen was clean, appeared to be fully stocked with cookware, matching plates and drink ware; we only need a coffee pot and mugs. Husband threw out a few tip ups right out in front of the cabin and caught 4, 20-25” inch pike. Our absolute favorite part of the weekend, was the wood burning stove and streaming/WiFi capabilities. We “un-plugged” so to speak, but got to hang-out and watch everything we wanted at our finger-tips (something we can’t do at home with 3 kiddos). If you have kids; the owners had toys/puzzles/activities including a sled or two, along with a pack and play and bunk beds. I’d say this is very small detail for some, but as a parent quite accommodating to families wanting to stay with small kids. Kids dishes and utensils as well! Not a huge place (but that’s why we loved it) but plenty of space for a family of 4-5. My only thing negative to note, the master bed was a Queen (which we knew when we booked) but the mattress was quite firm. My husband and I are very tall, so one ended up sleeping on the couch the next night. We’d stay again however! The bedding, pillows, and luxurious cozy blankets made up for it. Had dinner and drinks at The 4 Seasons a few miles away. The owner reached out to me prior to our arrival and gave recommendations on places to eat while we were in the area, and also provided a link for grocery pick up in town. Went out of his way. Thanks Jon. Property manager, Jeff, was very responsive.

My husband and father in law stayed at this small quaint cabin the weekend after Thanksgiving. They went hunting and I skied at the Turkey Birkie. Warm cabin and very clean! Very easy to get in touch with property manager.

Perfect spot for a quiet getaway on the lake
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! Caught several bass and pike right off the dock. Enjoyed kayaking in the early morning and saw a bald eagle hanging out in a neighbor's tree. The loons were out on the lake in the evening. and the stargazing was tremendous from the dock. Wished we would have brought our mountain bikes to take advantage of the many trails in the area. Walked a short portion of the grassy Birkie trail, which our dogs enjoyed because it was easy on their paws. The cabin had everything we needed to cook there, and there were plenty of options to eat out in nearby Hayward. The cabin is nicely decorated and set back from the main road so it is very quiet. Highly recommended by both humans and dogs!

Awesome place for a small family. Great setup for kids with the bunk/trundle beds. Literally feet from the lake. Amazing stargazing at night. Simple vibe for a getaway from life - Just enough of what you need (kitchen utensils, cooking space, TV, seating, etc) and nothing you don’t. We had some minor issues with drips from the ceiling as the foot+ base of snow melted on the roof. The property manager responded quickly and took care of things as needed. Assuming roof repairs, we would definitely go back!
