A lovely hotel
A very lovely international standard hotel in a good location. We stayed in a comfortable colonial room with small balcony for watching the world. A very attractive main lobby/bar area & fabulous roof top bar/pool. Breakfasts were good with a large selection (including bacon), as was food from the bar menu (they serve chips too – the rest of Cuba serves rice & beans which is OK until you’ve been in Cuba for a while!) We stayed in this hotel for 3 days prior to leaving Cuba due to the coronavirus. Due to a government announcement we were not able to leave the hotel for our entire stay. We were so pleased to be locked into this hotel (rather than others) and would definitely recommend staying here.

Check in was bizarre. The room was very outdated and should have been $80 instead of $250 Pool was freezing and the jacuzzi was empty. Just an all over disappointing stay. Our friends felt the same way. About 20 years overdue for a serious remodel.

Heads up Canadians! The foreign exchange at the hotel refused to exchange Canadian currency to CUC. We were down to our last night and credit cards were not accepted so we needed to exchange cash for dinner. It was embarrassing! Great location/good hotel otherwise!

It’s in a separate (“modern”) building from the main (“colonial”) hotel. This creates a very different experience (it’s like any typical, 3/4 star hotel that you might find in Europe, as opposed to the lush, Old Havana style of the main part of the hotel). This explained why I was able to book it for such a reduced price, but it should be made clear when you book. A few things were a little rough around the edges (a wall in my room seemed kind of unfinished) but overall it was quite nice. The linens were not great, however- very thin pillow and low thread count sheets.

The lobby bar & mezzanine is gorgeous, but there's cigar smokers galore. Minimal air conditioning. If you like cigars, you'll love it. Otherwise, don't go near it. Cigars in the restaurant, the pool bar, wherever. Not great being sardined in the elevator with someone who just finished a stogie.. Room air conditioning is not good. Doesn't cool quickly, doesn't take out the humidity well.

This was the worst customer service i've ever had and I've traveled around the world and stayed in many hotels. The staff and front desk people were rude and not helpful at all. Managers were no help and neither was iberostar customer service. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY IBEROSTAR EVER AGAIN after this experience. When you make a reservation make sure you make it for how many people staying in the room, not just the room. If you bring your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or husband they will not let you check-in unless you put 2 people on the reservation. They won't let you change the reservation and add extra person either. So you have to cancel the reservation and pay for full price for cancellation or book another room and pay double or through hotel ( triple what you pay on Orbitz.). THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU AND NO ONE WILL! 2nd - INTERNET IS AWFUL if you plan on working at the hotel with their internet you can't. They only give you one hour a day of internet and its very slow. Plus you have to type in a random 12 digit code plus a 10 digit random password to use it every time. There's no internet in the rooms so you have to use in lobby. If you go anywhere outside of lobby you'll be kicked off internet and have to resign in every time. Also you can only use one device at a time with the internet. 3rd - POOL IS CROWDED ALL THE TIME and they won't tell you how to get towels. The hotel won't tell you any instructions on almost any amenities either. THE STAFF IS NO HELP

This is one of the better hotels in Havana. Perhaps a bit dated , and not EU or north American standard but still pretty good for Havana. Definately overpriced, but will so little choice in Havana for good hotels at least try and get a discount rate from Expedia or booking. The staff are very accommodating but lack basics like coffee pods for the in room machines, the small pool is crowded and some selfish guests 'reserve' spots all day while hardly using them. The location is perfect and the gym is good. If you take a towel they might come looking for you to make sure you've not stolen it lol, not the best way to treat guests. Best breakfast bar none in Havana. Included in the expensive rate...so there is that.

Things to consider
AC in first bedroom not working so we had to move to another, so very inconvenient. Once in new bedroom, AC worked great but no comforter, so we were freezing all night, even when we lowered the AC. Also, they should consider more comfortable beds and pillows. Lastly, they only give you wifi 5 hours per day, which disconnects all the time, and only works in lobby area. The breakfast however was great, and so was the location.

Horrible hotel charge per person per night fee that is insanely high! Poor service we were not able to take cups to our hotel to have coffee in our room. No coffee machines in room. Bath tub not working don’t waste your money here!!!!! Horrible hotel rooms were basic ugly and for the price you can stay somewhere nicer. Total rip off

For the money, we were very disappointed. The room was small for three adults. Many staff seemed indifferent. Having a pool was a differentiator, though we had a better stay, elsewhere, for a fraction of the price.

Location was fantastic for exploring old Havana. The facilities were good as we were in the new wing of the hotel. Great to have a money changing desk in the hotel. Staff friendly. Only real negative were a few baby cockroaches in the room.

The center of the action.
We were pleased that the hotel was as good as the previous times we have stayed there. Many places we have stayed in Havana over the years often are not maintained well. This is not one of them. From the front desk to the gentlemen who open the doors for us would always ask if they could be of help. The rooms were very clean. Bed comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking Paseo del Prado, which is great for people and old car watching. The dining room for breakfast was very busy but the staff do a good job of keeping everything running smoothly. Will stay there again.It is close to everything a tourist would want to see in Havana.

Room still had rubbish in the bin when we checked into the room. Dirty sanitary napkins in bin in bathroom. Check in receptionist rude. Took 45 minutes and 2 phone calls to get some milk and a spoon so we could make some coffee in our room. When milk and spoon were finally delivered the only words to me were. You usually have to pay for milk and you will pay tomorrow. On check out we told staff, when asked, that there was nothing from the mini bar. We were then told to wait there while they sent someone to check. Will never stay in another Iberostar Hotel.

The internet was useless. I went to the reception three times each day to fix one problem after the other just trying to connect to their ridiculous internet/wifi system which only works in the lobby area. It was exhausting; they had to re-set my account several times, the log in page simply didn't show up on my cell phone, and 20 hours of internet time seemed to just disappear.

It's a charming hotel but actually has two different hotel. We were booked under the Moderna wing but they checked us into the Colonial wing.

front desk personal not very friendly or helpful, my room was really really bad, the rug was dirty and staining with water spots, the curtains were pulled and ripped, wifi was almost never available, saw a roach in the room first day, the room was not ready when we arrived.

The property was an oasis in the city. The staff were some of the worst we have experienced in our many years of travel. Stay here for the pleasant rooms and facilities but do not expect anything further.
