“Clean and comfortable...”

The Holiday Inn was great! Upsides: The rooms were bright, but when blinds were closed, you could sleep mid-afternoon and think it was night time; the hotel itself was clean; free internet in the lobby was great; lots of dining options nearby (all price ranges); very central location in Harrisonburg. Down sides: no continental breakfast; What we thought was a hottub was a kiddie pool; couldn't get our mac connected to the free Wifi, and when we called the helpline, the guy was quite rude (although that's not necessarily the hotel's fault); the tub kept getting clogged when we showered. Overall, I would definitely go back!

“Just Average”

The elevator was broken the day we arrived and since my husband had knee surgery recently we inquired about a room on the ground floor. The hotel was able to accommodate that request. An outside door on the side of the building which usually needs a room key to access was broken. This should be fixed for better security. The room was clean and looked nice.

“Above average, great location”

WI FI internet worked great and the food in the restaurant was good. The only two things I can say that are even remotely negative are that the hallway decor is definitely dated and could stand to be replaced and the Air conditioner heater unit in the room is fairly loud.

“Needs improvement with Staff & Staff numbers.....”

I reserved two rooms for 4 people, one handicaped with a King bed and one with two Queen size. Received two handicaped with Kings. Unable to change. Ate dinner at hotel. Excellent meal, short handed. Only one waiter for entire room, no busboys. He did a great job. Went back for breakfast in AM. This time there were two servers, completely overwhelmed with work. Dirty tables everywhere ( NO bus help again and NO hostess), Beside the dining room they had to deliver room service for the entire hotel! Half-hour wait for missing food, half- hour to get your check. People were walking out after seating themselves, telling others at the door to leave as they left. During the time we were there, no less than 3 dozen people left to go somewhere else. This was a Sunday morning and I hate to think just how much money the hotel lost being cheap by not hirering enough help! How many meals and return stays were lost? A good meal only covers so much, so will we return again or stay elsewhere? There are MANY other hotels nearby to stay at.

“JMU Parents Weekend”

Other than the nightly cost being much higher than normal because it was parents weekend at JMU, it was what you would expect (and maybe a little better) from a Holiday Inn.
