Walkable to the heart of Gothenburg, this fantastically situated hotel in a magnificent building is a great place to stay. While the rooms and trims must have been the height of designer when it was renovated a few years ago, there are some signs of dating in the tower. That doesn’t stop the beds from being ultra comfy, and meticulously clean. The breakfast is the jewel of the hotel, in the beautiful lobby and dining area, this lavish feast has everything you might want. Only two minor downers- a tiny selection of low rent mini pastries and somewhat brusque machine coffee, which is only an encouragement to eat up and go in search of fika! Guest amenities are great as well, with a fantastic luggage room system meaning you can base yourself around the hotel before check in and after check out with minimal stress.

The beds... This hotel has the absolute worst beds I have ever tried. I rather sleep on a rock. Impossible to sleep in those beds. Seriously, change the beds or close the hotel forever!

This is a fantastic posh property right beside the main train station. Tons of restaurants and wine bars to check out nearby. Easy walkability, just look out for the cabbies!

Very nice hotel in an historic building. Bar and restaurant offer good food and every drink. My bed was almost too big for the room, as was the desk. The bed seemed to be a box spring with a bout a two inch foam topper. Not too bad to sleep on, but very low for old backs. Consistent water temp in the shower was lacking. Facility is clean and in good repair and staff is very helpful. I was on the 13th floor and the music kept me awake. Maybe music reaching the 13th floor indicates a danger of hearing loss to those in the room with the music? It could come down a notch and still be loud enough for partiers.

This hotel is in a great location steps from the central train station. There is also a local tram stop right outside and many taxis. It is clean and well staffed and everyone speaks good english. The one negative is the pool is NOT included in the price. You have to reserve it for 2 hours for an additional 150 SEK and its not private during that reservation. Also, we stayed over new years eve and they had a large party on the main floor going to 2am. It was VERY loud and we could hear the music in our room when we were trying to sleep.

The Hotel room and restaurant were both excellent. The service in the Restaurant was excellent. The service in the hotel was abismall. Almost impossible to contact the front desk - they just do not answer the phone. One example I tried to call the front desk from the Uk - after being on hold for around 15 minutes - someone answered and immediately put the phone down. Same problem phoning internally in the hotel. I asked for my room to be cleaned and was told they could not clean the room if I was in it. Fair enough. I agreed a time. Went out, came back an hour later - no one had cleaned the room. Also could not put drinks in the bar on my room bill. I travel a lot and that was a first for me!

Looked most things about hotel, room comfy, breakfast lovely, staff helpful. Didn't like spa so much - booking difficult, not much seating/loungers in spa area. Not made aware when booking that that spa and pool were on very different levels- made it difficult to have time in both and relax. Maybe make that obvious when booking - did love the pool - very atmospheric! - overhaul we loved it start with you😁

Old and in serious need of a total renovation. Worst beds ever, to soft and very old. Complicated parking, no valet. Don't know what more to say, I could write a book about my stay, but it wouldn't change the fact that this hotel should be replaced with a parking facility, or a shopping mall, I will not return, and I can't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.

The Clarion Hotel Post is situated right across from the central station and bus station where the busses from the airport drop off. It’s also slap bang in the middle of everything Gothenburg has to offer, shops, bars, restaurants, parks, trams. Although it’s a big hotel with quite a young vibe, it manages to have a really friendly feel. It’s quite funky with a dj in the bar, although there are other quieter bars, a couple of lovely restaurants and a breakfast buffet that is enormous. The rooms are super clean, ours had a floor to ceiling window offering amazing views of the city. There is also a rooftop pool (a small fee chargeable) and a spa. It was very busy when we stayed with a couple of conferences taking place but we never had to wait to be served in any of the bars, Norda restaurant (really lovely) and although breakfast was a little mad, we never had to wait and the vast variety of hot and cold food was constantly replenished. Will definitely stay again when we return (out 21year old design student son would absolutely love it). And would definitely recommend to friends.

Excellent location. This is the place to be. It’s on the first floor with a restaurant on side and in the back and a busy street. But is was very quiet. Lots of natural light. Lockbox is on the lower right of door, didn’t see it at first and is the very last one on lower right side. There is an entry room that has a daybed. The living room has a couch, wide enough to sleep but not very long. The bedroom has a comfortable bed. We found clean linens and more towels in the laundry room, and bedding in the wardrobe. We were able to sleep 3 adults and one tall teen comfortably. Small kitchen. Dining room with table. TV with Netflix, HBO max, YouTube. There is a washer and dryer. The dryer is ventless. You need to empty the water reservoir collector. If it is full it will not dry, it shuts off and beeps with a red light. This is common in apartments with out venting capabilities.

I was disappointed when I found out that we paid more than the normal price by a lot due to Bruce Springsteen being in town. That was not why we visited and had I known I would have planned my trip differently.

The location is the best in the City, within everything either within walking distant or a tram or bus journey away (both outside the door). The breakfasts were outstanding. The hotel was stylish (it is the former Post Office) and everyone we encountered was pleasant and friendly.
