“Very happy”

I stayed here with a daughter and 3 grandchildren, two aged 16 years and the younger one was 9 years. I asked for and received a 3-bedroom ocean front unit and was absolutely delighted with the apartment, clean, tidy and spacious, with glorious views of the beach from the 17th floor. The service from Reception was impeccable, the room service meals from Saya's were very good and the best priced meals we saw in Surfers. Location was perfect, right next to Ferny Ave and the bus stops, walking distance to the main shopping area, right next to the beach, and a handy mini-golf just across the road. The Pit Stop convenience store is also just next door and we found this useful as we did breakfasts and cut lunches in our unit, using the very nice kitchen. Would definitely choose this hotel again!

“Mantra - Gold Coast”

The property was very nice - since it is winter there they were doing maintenance so we were unable to use the water slide but wasn't a big deal. The staff was very pleasant.

Things to note are that the rooms are not serviced so hang your towels to dry. Breakfast is great. The pools are nice. Only a short walk into town. Bottle shop across the road (hic). Free parking great for push biking which we do.

“Excellent”

Mantra Sun City is a great hotel, the staffs are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, it is close to everything, food courts, restaurants are nearby. The facilities are awesome, our kids love the heated swimming pool. Spas and saunas are cool and relaxing after a long day visiting theme parks. We will definitely come back next year.

“Mantra Sun City Review”

The hotel was awesome! We even had a bigger room than what we had booked. It's a short walk to the main shops and the esplanade. The neighborhood was quiet. The only thing odd was that they didn't clean the room for the entire time we were there(3 nights) and they only supplied one bar of soap. Other than that it was great!

“a pleasant stay”

I booked the Mantra because I had a conference across the road so location was perfect for my needs. I was a bit surprised about the lack of room cleaning - on request only, but I gather if I had wanted more toiletries , I only had to ask. I didn't mind not having the room serviced. The restaurant was very nice but their takeaway was a bit poor. The hotel room I had was spacious and quiet and the bed comfortable.

“Its pretty good”

The Mantra Sun City would prove to be a great hotel but the fact of the matter is that they stuffed our reservation up! Instead of 1 x 3 bedroom apartment and 1 x 2 bedroom apartment, we received 1 x 1 bedroom apartment and 2 x 2 bedroom apartments. That would have been ok but reception insisted that "Reservations tried to get in contact with me". That is a joke, they had my address, email address (which I check everyday) and most importantly my mobile number, I WAS NOT CONTACTED, I told reception that but they kept insisting that "reservations had tried to contact me". I would appreciate the truth, if they said, "I am very sorry, it’s our stuff up" then things might have been ok, but don’t lie and try to hide behind reservations, stand up and take responsibility! Other then that it was a lovely place to stay.

“Buffet Breakfast was the highlight of this Hotel stay”

Check-in was okay. I was a little surprised though to be told that a $100 charge would be taking off my card and returned within a few days. And if I paid that charge by credit card, I would be charged a non-refundable 2% fee. The hotel overall was clean and very "mayan" inspired. I didn't use the outdoor pool as it was too cold while I was staying there but it looked nice. The free buffet breakfast was for sure the highlight of this hotel. Compared to the Continental breakfasts back in North America, where you get mere scraps of muffins and toast, this breakfast was fantastic! Hot, fresh food and even a pancake maker that made fresh pancakes for you on the spot by just pressing a button! The room was comfortable but the drapes were strange as the sun blocking curtain was buried in the back and not easily accessible. During check-out I overheard two other couples comment on the same issue, and much like my husband and I, they awoke earlier on their first nights to a sun-filled room. The annoying thing about this hotel was the lack of elevators. Two out of the four elevators were not functioning and for a 30+ floor hotel, this definitely was inconvenient. Overall a decent stay (minus the elevators).

“Not Impressed”

If we had of been husband and wife with 3 kids it would of been fine. The girl in the restaurant for buffet breakfast needs more help she seemed to have one speed. When booking the room we asked for ocean views and instead got a view of the river and hinterlands in a "B" room. The room wasn't at all what we expected but at least the 2 single beds pushed together to make a king was comfortable enough. Facilities were great not that we actually used them. Wouldn't and haven't recommend Mantra Sun City to anyone except maybe our friends with family in tow.

“Can't wait to get home!”

Unfortunately my first experience was not pleasant, after checking in and driving around in circles trying to find a park in the so called "guest" car park, we entered 1 of the 4 elevators and it had an off odor, looked down and there was baby feces on the floor! Not the hotels fault but when we down again several hours later it was still there...The room was not overly clean, after the first night of tossing and turning and waking up between the "king" bed, housekeeping hadn't bothered to do the zip up...I went and complained to management that there was mold in the bathroom, rust and dirt all over the balcony, the bed wasn't even put together properly, although eventually we did get changed rooms, I had to chase this up with management and then he came and asked me to point out the problems....I certainly have been put off the Mantra for life, I certainly expect more from a hotel and certainly expect more for the price that was paid to stay there!
