Room was extremely old and gross. The carpets were actually horrible with stains everywhere. Will not be staying here again. I honestly excepted the place to be a little nicer for what I paid so I was very disappointed.

Don't waste your money by booking this resort. I don't write bad review but needed to warn people. Holiday got ruin by staying in this place. Mold in bathroom, no aircon just so so bad. Look at review on internet for more info

We had seen some bad reviews about this property, but we booked it because there were very few options for our dates (we hadn't realised we were booking in the middle of Schoolies season till we saw all the schoolies!). Our apartment was a delight, comfortable and clean, and we loved the ambience of the building and its grounds. Very handy to everything we wanted nearby including cafes, shops and the fabulous Gold Coast tram. We would stay again. The downside was very poor communications from the management. We emailed before arrival wanting to check on arriving after reception hours (ie, 7pm) but got no response. It was fortunate I phoned, as you need a code to get through the gate and then into a key box, and phoning was the only way we discovered this. They then took two lots of a $A300 bond from my credit card, one the bond they said they would take, the other a second one put through after I emailed them a photo of my credit card and driver's licence, which they asked for in the phone call. I had to ask several times in person at reception and by emails to get that $A600 back which they did, in two separate transactions a couple of days apart. A very odd procedure. Oh and we couldn't find anything about internet access; there was meant to be a sign of some kind in our apartment. Never mind, I just ran my laptop off my phone hotspot which I often do anyway. But these issues aside, we really liked the apartment, which was on the ground floor. Very lush area.

The apartment was dated and lacking in the small things like a shelf in the shower to put things on, no spare toilet rolls or hand towels and not enough tea, coffee and milk supplied for 2 people for 4 days. The upside is that it is within walking distance to shops, beach and transport.

Don’t stay here. Pay extra and stay somewhere decent. The whole place needs a make over and don’t get me started on the condition of the mattress. Old, dirty with springs sticking out everywhere. Really dirty room, the bare minimum of cleaning done. We couldn’t find the tv remote and had the misfortune of pull out the bed to find it. Disgusting to say the least. The carpet on the stairs was filthy, hand rails sticky. Linen and towels the cheapest of quality. The management are making as much money as they can by spending the very least that they have to. 0 out of 10

Size of rooms large....bedroom, lounge. Good optioned kitchen .... oven, microwave, dishwasher. Also had washing machine and dryer. No lifts so not good for mobility challenged, however not a problem otherwise. Close to tram line and Pacific Fair. Will stay again.

It started with reception, intercom broken at entrance,didn't know code had to ring and waited 10 minutes! Shower was mouldy had to ask for it to be cleaned. Wi Fi and Foxtel wasn't up and running until 8th day of a 10th day stay, alerted straight away was told handyman couldn't fix as old unit, but manager fixed it on 8th day, too little too late. Couldn't get discount or go anywhere else as had a policy no refund, we felt trapped. Please do yourself a favour and pay extra to stay at Meriton or Dorsett!

I did not stay at Aruba Surf Resort; they do not respond to communications outside reception hours; I was not provided a key and could not check in. They demanded photo id by email (without explanation) after the refund expiry and left me locked out, unable to contact anyone, looking for alternate accommodation on a weekend afternoon.

All the units are fully furnished, such as washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, and air conditioner, Sofa Bed etc. We did replace some sofabeds of some units recently also replace brand new carpet. Also We do have 5 Superior Apartment which is refurbished with brand new furniture , Viny timber floor and modern living vibe.We are located in the centre of the Broadbeach, beside the beach, and all restaurants, shopping centres, like the premium shopping destination Pacific Fair where just crossed road, but we are nice and quiet and closed to everything. We are having Free wifi and Foxtel, Heated Spa, Swimming pool and BBQ areas for infrastructure here. Welcome all of you from all over the world and hope you would like to come back again with Free Upgrade to our Updated Superior Apartment .Kind RegardsAruba Surf Resort Management

The property is run down inside dirty and in need of a good clean. The room was like living in an ash tray. People smoke on balconies and it wafts straight into the studio. I wish I had stayed somewhere else. Terribly disappointed in the management and their lack of skills in handling an issue. Not good at all.

I booked this unit for myself & my mother who is 66, for a week holiday for her birthday. After walking up 4 flights of stairs she had a fall on the balcony as she walked through the curtains and fell on to the chair and broke it, mind you the chair was old... thankfully she only had a few bruises. The unit was absaloutly disgusting, the washing machine wasn't cleaned at all, had fluff and dirt and mould throughout the unit. The air con didn't work upon arrival, it wasn't stated you had to walk up 4 flights of stairs either. The after hours lady was helpful yet took almost 2 weeks to get a outcome of a refund, which was only givin a credit to stay there again. I have attached photos for a review. I wouldn't recommend staying here!

We are sorry the aircon issue on the check in day. However We could not control the appliance break down when and how.Aruba Surf Resort was over 25 years business and was built in 1997, WE had never advertised our resort has lift, the property was built with stairs only.You might blame the builder in 90's not current management . We are apologized about any idea of Aruba Surf Resort as you mentioned , Aruba Surf is high demanding Holiday Apartment from 1997, all the units are fully furnished , so we cannot deny there is few old furniture but “fully functional “We are located in the centre of the Broadbeach, beside the beach, and all restaurants, shopping centres, like the premium shopping destination Pacific Fair where just crossed road, but we are nice and quiet and closed to everything. After investigation , we offered you all other units with fully functional Aircon include Brand New Superior Suite as relocation but you choose to leave.We could not offer full refund due to non-cancellation policy We did offer guest option and other arrangement . As the result , we can only save credit note for guest , however we need to deduct 290 One Night Stay Fee.907- 293 614 , Guest can use this 614 to stay with us again within next 6 Months . we can Free Upgrade to Refurbished Superior Suite for her next stay. The property is in a Great location for everything and the lady at reception when we booked in was very accommodating and friendly The inside of the apartment is in need of some updating in terms of furniture and equipment provided. Little things like one roll of toilet paper and one dishwashing tablet provided then your on your own seems a Bit petty

The room smelt terribly, carpets and curtains were stained and moldy, towels had hair on them and stains, toilet seat had huge cracks full of germs, customer service was shocking. Kids couldnt stop iching themselves all night so we had to leave ASAP in the morning. Definately not a 3 star property as advertised so many OTHER beautiful accommodatation places in broadbeach. Dont waste you money or holiday at this place.

I booked this property as I was attending a conference nearby. I was not told about having to check in before 4pm when I booked. After a long day I arrived at my hotel to find we were locked out and nowhere to stay. I rang the "out of hours" phone number at least 10 times and left messages and sent multiple emails, STILL have not heard back. AND they kept my money! AVOID THIS RIP OFF HOTEL

The only positive was location. No hot water for morning shower, cockroaches in bathroom & kitchen, no bath mat or hand towel, dirty worn carpets, mouldy dirty curtains. Horrible property, locked up making check in awkward, big sign at the locked front gate saying use the phone on the wall to contact reception - there’s no phone, have to call on your phone. We used nothing in that filthy dump.

Very disappointed
The only positive I can say is the location. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The apartment was not clean, my impression was that they didn't even clean the room after the last person left. It seems the carpet is has never been cleaned, the walls where dirty, the sofa needs to be replaced, bad smell in the apartment. The apartment was very tired. The staff in the reception was very rude and the lady in the office yelling at us. I would not recommend this accommodation!

The way the place was run, it looked like they were waiting on someone to buy it and build another tower block. There was limited linen, No communication there would be no one at reception, even though I was asked to go there the day after I arrived. The apartment was in need of significant repair.

Would not recommend this accommodation and will ensure others are warned. The location was good for our use. Unfortunately the receptionist was rude, poor communication and negligent in her duty. No communications mentioned there would not be someone available for check in. We received a text msg referring to out of hours check which we believed did not apply to us as we were checking in during advertised hours. However, on arrival we received a rude phone call demanding my credit card number and would not provide access codes unless given over the phone. Upon arrival receptionist was there and gave us room and gate keys and asked if we needed parking. We advised we did and she directed us to the carpark. No remote was provided nor advice that the gate would be locked after hours and we were unable to exit when needed to meet our booked tour (after travelling from Darwin for the purpose of the event).This meant we had to catch a taxi costing $95 to meet tour. On returning the receptionist was extremely rude and yelling when we questioned the gate being locked and when we pointed out that this was a safety issue as unable to exit. No apology or remorse just a arrogant attitude and dismissed us entirely.

If you gonna use carpark you may advise to us to register your rego then we can provide the remote . Thanks for your honest comment Our check-in time is 2 to 5 pm weekdays . weekend check in time is 12-2pm aftethour check in is available . Aruba Surf Resort was over 25 years of business and was built in 1997 which was low-raised Spanish style units with no lift , all the units are fully furnished, so there is some aged stuff there due to any renovation after the owner's consent. However, we have always been working on all ongoing issues if you would like to report to us during your stay. Besides, we would definitely talk to our staff about customer service standards and provide training for our team, we hope you would like to give us the opportunity to approve our improvement for your next stay with a 10% discount as compensation for expressing the apology for this time, we are looking forward to providing better service for you soon.
