Not a pleasurable place to stay
A disappointing stay at Goan village. The pictures shown must be very old. The place needs a total renovation. There are no parasols around the pool, only 3 sunbeds. The place is not cleaned very efficiently, just a dirty old towel pushed around on the end of a mop. This was used to do lounge, bedroom, bathroom and common areas, never were any cleaning agents used, no disinfectant bleach, anything like that. Many of the 10mm thick pieces of glass on tables in the restaurant were chipped. The girl doing the cleaning held her hand out for tip before she'd even done anything and certainly wasn't left anything at the end. You do not expect staff to be holding their hand out for money when they have a job, they are not begging in the street. Some of our own toiletries went missing from the room before they were finished with. When told to the leaning supervisor nothing was done, or things replaced. We asked them to arrange a taxi to take us to the airport for our return home and paid in advance, at 2.0AM no taxi. Fortunately someone kindly shared their taxi with us, otherwise I don't know where we would have been. The tiles on the roof are all loose or missing. I know not important when it's 35deg and brilliant sunshine, but it just makes the place shabby and unappealing. There are rooms available in the immediate area for £15.00 with A/C that are more appealing than Goan Village. it is definitely not worth £50+ per night. I must say though the restaurant staff were very friendly
