I was gonna go swimming inside but it was kind of nasty with having an outside pool too. Me and my husband were in the hot tub and had blue stuff on our body when we got out but it came off with soap and a rag. It look a little warn down but it was a place to stay for the night

This is an Old and very dated property. If you take it just for a eclectic humor, the fantasy suites are cheesy and amusing. But it is very old and very rundown. Quite a lot of mold and mildew in the showers and the plane that you can tour you can’t even walk inside it smells so bad. toiletries were provided and they were pretty good. They have a very basic breakfast but do you have a waffle maker and they do have coffee available 24 seven. Housekeeping is very basic, but they will at least change your towels every day. The TV only gets less than 10 channels and they’re all junk. So the TV is effectively useless. it wasn’t awful, and it was a safe OK place to spend a weekend while in town for a convention. Bring a sense of humor and you’ll probably enjoy it.

The room was clean the property could definitely use some upkeep (basic rooms)... but the theme rooms are well kept it is a one of a kind hotel and glad it is still around in Wisconsin.

Cool place to stay. Guy at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Nice outside area. I didn’t check out the amenities. But the place shows it age in both the best and not so good ways. There were some things to frown at but it’s still a good stay overall. The bathrooms and bedding seemed very clean and acceptable. Would definitely recommend just set standards accordingly.

I wanted to love this quirky hotel, but it was just too filthy. I stayed in a double queen room. The bathtub in my first room was so stained and gross looking that I wouldn’t set foot in it for a shower. They did give me a a different room with a cleaner tub for my second night. But this room had a moldy smell in the refrigerator. It was a great value but I would have happily paid more for a cleaner hotel. On the plus side, the rooms are spacious and the lobby is great for hanging out. But I don’t think I will be staying there again.

We absolutely loved the themed room! It was so affordable, too! We stayed in the Arabian Nights room. They are an older motel, but the uniqueness of the place makes up for the datedness. The breakfast wasn't much, but we were literally the only couple staying there that night so it was understandable. We will stay again! The only thing I can say was a problem for us was the heater. The fan was loud when it kicked on all night. Both the swimming pool and hot tub were available. We truly enjoyed our romantic get away.

Room was ok. Wasn’t the one I reserved because that one was left messy by the previous people who stayed in it. Hotel staff said they called me to let me know but there is not a call or email to back that up. Room that I did get (after asking why I didn’t get the one I reserved) was pretty dated and not that clean. It was an alright visit but wouldn’t make a point to come back.

We actually loved staying here. It has an odd vibe that is very much my style: from the the large circular fireplace in the lounge surrounded by barber chairs to the plane out front.

This stay was incredibly disappointing. The smell in the lobby was unbearable and the hot tub was broken. Our room was dirty and the bed was rock hard. I wish I could get my money back, I would have preferred to sleep in my car over this hotel.

The quirky atmosphere was fun. Some parts of our theme room were broken. They will fine you $100 if you use a bath bomb in the tub which was a disappointing surprise. The shower over the tub made it difficult to prevent water from pooling on the tiles and soaking your towel, even when you use the curtains, so hang your towel in the ring after you take down the shower curtain.

My 2 kids and I checked in on Friday 11/24/23 I realize the place is old but it smelled really bad and was very dirty. The pool and hot tub both were not working and our tv in our room did not work either. The gentleman at the front was very very nice but the property itself is less than desirable

The whirlpool tub jets did not work, and we had flies in the room, outlets didn't work. The tub had mold growning around it. This is the 2nd time we have stayed there and the 1st time was way better. Check in always takes forever cuz there is no one at the desk

Would have been cool IF....
This place has so much potential, but it was a letdown. The garbage's out front of the entrance were overfilled on Saturday evening at 4pm and still overfilled on Sunday morning at our checkout time. There were cigarette butts that littered the entrance as well. The shower is a little difficult to operate, I felt like I need a manual!! The water from the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, perhaps longer curtains would be helpful. The blanket was very thin on the bed. The refrigerator in the room had a door that was sticking, so it was difficult to open. With all of the issues of cleanliness, we had no desire to try the breakfast or the pool. To pay so much for a room, for a night, I did expect a better outcome.

I really love Don Q! Themed hotels are a rarity in the US and I am so happy that this place exists in the Midwest. Can’t wait to book another room next time! The cave room was so very cool and the tub was out of this world! Really groovy stay, see you next time!
