I am thoroughly disappointed in my stay at the Sheraton. I paid for a suite & was put into their most basic room upon check in. Whenever I went back downstairs and informed the front desk of their error. I was lied to and told my actual room would be ready within 10 mins. I sat and waited for almost 3 HOURS before I was put into a different room. Whenever I would ask periodically if my room was ready, they would say “10 more minutes sir”. Their excuse was that the room was not clean yet. After almost 3 hours it was around 9:30PM when the front desk agent took me to my room. This room STILL was not the room I paid for. I even showed him the reservation where it said I would have a patio. He told me “sorry sir”. I didn’t even feel like arguing at this point because I was tired & wanted to go to sleep. As a Marriott gold member, this is truly unacceptable. Throughout my stay, I would be awaken at random times due to random hammering and construction taking place near my room. I was NOT warned about this and I even called to complain and nothing was done about it. I was told “Sorry sir”. I only stayed at this hotel because there was a music festival going on that was advertised for 2 days. When I arrived at the hotel, the festival had been modified to only 1 day. The staff informed me that it would be from 6:00PM to 2:00AM. The festival did not start until almost 11:00PM and the music ended around 1:15AM. Truly one of the WORST stays I've ever had. I ended up checking out early

I travel a lot for business and I like to pay my extras in cash . But seems to be a problem in theSheraton Djibuti . They will refuse US Currency unless is in mint condition and the bill is a recent print .I pulled several 100 $ bills , none seem to be satisfactory to the concierge . They offered to exchange my money at a bad rate and I refused . They also claim to have instructions from the management about currency exchange . All this process creates a very difficult experience for the customer .

Property was not a 4 star and not worth the money. The hotel rooms and facilities were old and dirty. Sheraton should withdraw their name from this hotel since it reflects poorly on the brand. View from pool was nice, but that was the only upside.

It is a nice hotel but not as nice as other Sheraton chains. Location of the beach is where sewage water flows. So it smells and dirty to swim. Since I used my vouchers I had a big orice discount, otherwise not worth the money. However everything in Djibouti is crazy expensive. Buffet breakfast is great. Pool is quiet and not crowded.

The location is wonderful - what a combo of a little beach and a delightful pool, and a great breakfast. Too bad that the staff can't measure up. The check in process was a mess and took forever, and then the room we got didn't have hot water and had a bath tub that didn't drain. We were moved for the next night, into a room with tepid A/C, which doesn't cut it in hot Djibouti. So a hot a night of sweaty sleep. All for $300 bucks a night, very disappointing.

The bed sheets were so old. I booked a room with queen bed and the hotel gave me a double bed room. but very small bed. the room has a door that should open to the next room. I literally could hear all the conversations the next guy was having on phone. imagine now he opens the TV at 3 am. it was hell. I don't blame him since that is his right. the hotel should invest in more basic sound proof walls. finally, the USD260 per night is not worth the accommodation. however, you need to know that Djibouti hotels are generally very expensive compared to the quality offered.

Avoid being ripped off. Stay elsewhere.
I rarely write reviews because I actually do not ask for too much when I stay at a hotel However, my stay at Sheraton warranted the time for me to add a review. The hotel options in Djibouti are limited, and further limited since I made my reservation with only two weeks notice. At US$ 285 per night, for what was categorized as an "Executive" room, I expected so much more than what was delivered. The room was honestly no better that a cheap motel room off the interstate highway back home in the US. I asked the front desk why I did not get an executive classed room, and she said that I did - executive rooms are termed as such because they are on the higher floors. <sigh>. To make matters worse, I was shocked to find that I was charged US$ 10 for a bottle of carbonated water. The only nice thing about the hotel is that the staff are very pleasant.

When I arrived at the Airport the Hotel shuttle did not show, I did called in advance for pickup, I had to take a taxi to the hotel , Checking in was great, one thing I will say that the staff at the hotel is great, they make you feel comfortable. The rooms are a little worn down but the bed was comfortable. The water pressure was bad and the water was salty, housekeeping was good, The location of the hotel is not bad, I did enjoy the casino being right next door, the food was great, one thing I was disappointed about they really did not have information about what to do around there, you would thing they would have pamphlets or brochure so you can look at, I could not tell you how the swimming pool is because it was closed for construction, check out was easy but once again the airport shuttle ride did not show, I had to take a taxi but the hotel did pay for it . Overall I would rate the hotel as a 2 star.

Mixed bag
Our stay was mixed. The fisrt night we were told there were no rooms with a king or quenn bed and we should just move 2 twin beds together ourselves. having been married for 25 years this was a surprise. @ days later we were given a room with a quenn bed overlooking the Red Sea, a different story. The pool was great and the beach, though small, was clean and completely private. the water was clean and clear.

It is poor hhotel sheraton brand. Pool has been out of operation for months. The room conditions are shabby.shabby . I would not recommend staying at this hotel ever again
