    Ukraine Hotel Guide

Ukraine is something of a borderland between distinctive parts of western Europe. It borders no less than seven countries, two major bodies of water, and the immense Carpathian mountains. There are many different options available for tourists that range from amazing outdoor adventures to subtle, sophisticated city pursuits. Ukraine really is a country that has a little something for everyone. When this is coupled with the simplicity of finding cheap hotel deals in Ukraine, the decision to visit becomes very easy for many.

In terms of its outdoor splendor, there is more than enough to go around. Ukraine is noted for its biodiversity thanks to the enormous tracts of untouched land and miles of shoreline. The Carpathian mountains provide opportunities for trekkers and skiers alike. In fact, there are a number of Ukraine hotel packages that come bundled with ski vacations to the Carpathians. Finding these Ukraine hotel deals can be as simple as doing a directed search for them on Expedia, and they are a popular option for many active tourists.

The Black Sea provides habitat for an enormous range of bird species, making south-coastal Ukraine ideal for birders and wildlife enthusiasts. Of course, visiting Ukraine also provides visitors with easy access to Russia as well, which provides even more outdoor options.

For those interested in more city-based tourism, the capital city of Kiev offers a wide range of interesting options for visitors. There is a very active cultural scene in Kiev that thrives on the arts, especially music and theater performance. The Lesya Ukraine National Academic Theater of Russian Drama is a particularly popular site for theatergoers. It has a distinctive style of architecture and is one of the many buildings from the late 1800s that has been preserved by the city's cultural commission.

In fact, over 70 percent of the historical buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries have been preserved among the new developments in the city. Many hotels in Ukraine are among the preserved buildings, with these Ukraine hotels boasting about this fact very readily. Tourists can book some of the best rooms in these hotels at the best rates with very reasonable prices for early reservations.

Both historic and modern hotels offer special discount rates for early booking during your stay in Kiev or any other top tier location in Ukraine. This means a cheap Ukraine hotel deal is never difficult to find with proper planning.

Receptionist was an excellent Ukrainian and English speaker, the room was stunning (pity balcony door didn't open but I guess that was down to health and safety), all-round service was EXCELLENT.

"A bit faded but still a great hotel!"
The Hotel Ukraine is a bit more faded now than it once was, but it still maintains its greatness. Its location is unbeatable, right in the middle of Kiev. Everything is either a short walk from your door, or it is immediately accessible via the metro. I had an economy room. It was spacious and clean. The water pressure was a bit inconsistent, but it didn't really bother me too much. The plumbing fixtures and the tub were in need of an upgrade, so if you are a bath person (as opposed to a shower person), you might be disappointed. My room was air conditioned, which was a big plus since I was there during a July 2013 heat wave. I also had a fridge, so if you are the type who would rather buy food at one of the many nearby supermarkets, you have a place to put it. Breakfast was included with my economy room, and it was certainly more than adequate, with a large selection of heat and cold items every morning. The lobby was a bit dated and shabby, but the staff were extremely competent and helpful (and most had a good grasp of English). I suspect that this hotel will soon be renovated, after which the price is sure to go up. For now, I cannot emphasize enough how satisfied I was with this fine old hotel! I would gladly stay at the Hotel Ukraine again!

    "Pleasant Surprise, Money well spent"
On my first visit to the Ukraine and Odessa, my expectations were not set very high; however I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, its staff and all the accommodations they offer as well as the city and its people. Rooms in Eastern Europe are not in keeping with American ideas, but my room was bright very clean well furnished and never at a lose for anything, the staff was exceptional by any measure. I will visit this hotel again.

"Well conditioned prison cell in downtown"
No windows & no fresh air. It is OK if the plan is just to sleep there but otherwise it can be quite depressive. The glass wall was the most stupid idea I ever came across. Noisy at 8 am when the breakfast is delivered to the rooms (no other option available). To be fair it is cheap and clean, but with some proper planning you would find reasonably priced apartments with much better lodging conditions.

"Nice hotel, but typical noisy room"
The hotel was great, staff were polite and helpful, but the room itself was like a blast furnace and when I tried to cool the room the noise of the aircon was so loud you couldn't sleep. I turned the fan down to the lowest setting ti keep the noise down and it started whining in the middle of the night. So it was not a great room to stay in. Other than that everything was great.

"Fantastic hotel, one block from Rynok Square."
Excellent hotel right in the city centre. Rooms where small but clean and well appointed. If you need a desk in your room then you should go for the superior room. Shower was very small so if you're girthy you may want to consider other options. Included breakfast was really good by Lviv standards - omelets, scrambled or fried eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, fruit, fresh squeeze OJ and other juices, coffee and pastries. Staff have excellent english and are very polite. Not quite the Leopolis but a lot less pricey.
