    Macau Hotel Guide

Located on the western bank of the Pearl River Delta in the Chinese province of Guangdong, Macau is a beautiful place where east meets west. During the 1550s, the region that is today known as Macau was a major entry point for trade between China, Japan, Europe, and India. As trade between Europe and China grew, Macau became a popular recreational spot for European traders. Today, it's easy to book a cheap Macau hotel deal.

Today, Macau is a Special Administrative Region of the Peoples' Republic of China much like Hong Kong. Although still tiny, this region is growing in size and diversity. Perhaps the greatest of Macau's attractions for many visitors is the unique society, which mixes the ancient and the modern. Finding hotel deals that offer special discount rates will help make a fun and exciting trip even better.

    When to Visit

The best time to visit Macau is during the months from October to December. The temperature is pleasantly moderate and comfortable during this period. The months from March to May are also good times to visit. Because Macau is not too cold nor too hot during the spring, this is a great time for those who are into outdoor activities to find Macau hotel deals and Macau hotel packages.

Of course, this breathtaking area is a good place to visit any time, and cheap hotel deals in Macau can be found throughout the year. You will immediately want to make reservations on Expedia at your chosen hotels in Macau to ensure you get the most favorable deal.

    What to Do

Considered by many to be the best attraction in Macau, the Ruins of St. Paul is a must see. St. Paul was destroyed by fire in 1835, and today, the ruins consist of the facade of the cathedral and St. Paul's college.

A-Ma Temple is an area steeped in the religious folklore of Macau, and Macau's name is derived from A-Ma-Gau, or Place of A-Ma. According to lore, a poor girl who was denied passage to Canton by the rich, but helped by the poor, arrived here and ascended to godhood. The fishermen who lived here built her a great temple.

If you like to gamble, then you simply must visit Venetian Macau. This casino is the world's largest and includes top-notch shopping, classy accommodations with great prices on rooms, and an authentic Venetian gondola. The Venetian is one of the top Macau hotels.

Nothing fancy, a bit away from action (5 min by taxi or 15-20 min walk to Largo Senado) but room was nice and clean, staff was friendly and helpful. To summarize - good value for money in Macau.

    "very nice , comfortable hotel . "
This hotel is part of the Sand cotai Hotels. It is a huge complex shared by 3 hotels(.Sheraton,Conrad Hilton,Holiday INN) The hotels are separated by a building complexThe lobby is huge. There is a garden w/c is nice for picture taking. This is a completely different holiday inn from the Holiday Inn in the U.S. It is comparable w/ sheraton Hotel. The room is big. We booked for 2 double beds . very comfortable.. There is a Mac Donald by the lobby w/c is convenient esp. if you are on the run but want something to eat .Shared a connecting bridge w/ sheraton to Venetian Hotel for the food court. walking distance to City of dreams for the the Dancing Water show w/c is a treat for my sister's B- day. It was really a sound decision we made by staying in the Sand cotai hotels..We were in a group and were separated . some stayed in sheraton and others stayed in Holiday Inn as we booked according to the room rate sale.we have no idea that the hotels are connected to each other by one lobby.we had an early check out but kept the luggage in the luggage locker as we had a late flight 10 pm .The whole group was very satisfied w/ both this hotel and the sheraton hotel and will be recommended to friends

"Great Deal on Sheraton for Exhibition"
I suggest to book the CLUB rate since it includes decent breakfast, all day snacks, great happy hour meal... Basically all meals covered for the day at exceptional price and service. It is very close to the Venetian for Exhibition purposes and you don't need to get wet on a rainy day. The bad thing is that for the last 2 days of my stay (5/20~5/21) the electricity was off for long hours and it became troublesome. At least the elevators worked.

    "Standard hotel with unfriendly receptionist"
Check in time should be at 2PM. We reached there at 3PM and the room wasn't ready so we have to wait again. The next day we were asking for their help to book us taxi to go to airport and the receptionist gave us an annoyed face but still call the taxi company but unfortunately the line was busy (she purposedly put it on loudspeaker) then did nothing after that. In the end we must wait in front of the hotel waiting for taxi and it was drizzling. The hotel itself is standard only. If you are looking for a place to crash the night then it will be just fine.

Each morning we enjoyed a very tasty breakfast with lots of variety to choose from. After our very busy tourist days we felt like we were welcomed home each evening when we walked into The Regency. We took advantage of the evening menu too,not included, but at very reasonable prices and better than anything close by.
