"With the road construction in Dar, Protea was not close to the airport, but well worth the drive! This is a top notch hotel! The unnamed hotel close to the airport in Dar is in poor condition; but Protea exceeded our expectations! The courtyard is beautiful with the tropical plants and swimming pool. The free breakfast had the most variety I have ever been offered at any hotel, from American food, to Dutch food, to local food, to Indian food. I have never seen such a huge buffet for breakfast!...

What you see on the website IS NOT what's in person. The place is deplorable and very far from the city and ferry. You do not walk out of a cottage and onto the beach.
