Super convenient as it's right off the I-5, this place had a mellow, cozy vibe that permeated the hotel. The fact that every room has it's own secured back porch is highly appreciated too. Only problem was that the vertical surface areas like doors and other areas were not as clean as they could be. I would reccomend this place to anyone in need of a quiet and unpretentious room that will remind you of your mothers home.

The place was so outdated. The furniture was sticky. It was noisy I couldn’t sleep and the service was not good. The ladies behind the counter had no sense of urgency taking their time in the office without acknowledging you and no effort to to help.

Shower curtain was moldy. Top sheet on bed had large grease marks on it. Lights were burned out. Restaurant very short staffed and therefore slow. Quaint but rundown. Could really be a nice place if cleaned up. Lovely gardens and nice event facilities.

Decent, but rooms need maintenance.
The grounds were very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The condition of the room however had some big flaws. First the tub drained so slowly that I was in ankle deep water by the end of my shower. When I lifted my towel off the rack, it came loose from the wall - the left hand bracket was not properly attached. Finally, the room had an unpleasant odor. It's the smell of old plastic and is similar to the smell of body odor. It was coming from the toilet seat, which was obviously old as it was discolored. I could easily hear the neighbors talking and showering in the morning. The bed was comfortable, but I am afraid that I could not recommend the Village Green as a good place to spend an overnight.

Best Place in Cottage Grove
We had a very enjoyable time. There to visit grandchildren, and of course their parents. Just heard they were selling and would be torn down. Very sad to hear that. This is by far the best place in Cottage Grove to stay.

This is a special hotel, set in beautiful gardens. Our room, like many had a private garden patio. Rooms are well maintained and comfortable. There is a good restaurant and lounge on site (closed Tuesdays). We find this one of the best stops on I5.

The surrounding property out-shined the unit interior by a large margin. If the accommodations were as nice as the scenery outside, I'd give this place 5 stars, but they're worn and in need of replacing. 3 1/2 rating.

I loved our private patio and the entire grounds and gardens. The carpets need replacing and the room needs updating, but the coziness and old fashion lay out added to the personality of the room.

Tired but convenient and clean
This is a motel, not a hotel and not much of a resort anymore. Obvious and significant building disrepair and freeway noise disappointing. Front desk folks and lounge servers nice. Food meh. Great live music! One chaise lounge at pool! Pool and hot tub wonderful. Restaurant service poor: got up and walked out after 25 minutes, never even met our server. Bed newer but quite hard. Housekeeping customer service lacking: a mattress topper was requested, we got a very thin mattress flannel cover and some lip and our request for room tidy the next day was ignored. Glory days long over for this motel but price was relatively reasonable and it was clean and felt fairly safe. Town not without its charm and local museums great. Recommend Stacy's; Coast Fork Brewery; Bottarelli's; Pink House and Village Inn for meals. Recommend Saginaw Winery for tasting. Next door to Wal-Mart, 3 minutes into downtown area. Many businesses closed. Lots of great inventory and friendly people at Schweitzer's clothing and Flying Monkeys antiques.

The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. The breakfast started at 0800 so it made it to plan outdoor activities due to the heat. The air conditioner worked some what. Glad it cooled down at night. Checking out desk person tried to charge me another day but realized it was the wrong room. We usually stay here but it might have been their second or third strike. This time the value was not worth it

I will have our Maintenance Department look into the air conditioner. I am sorry that our Front Desk employee tried charging you for an extra night and for the wrong room, she is a new employee still learning. We do hope to have you stay with us again.

This place is amazing, my husband is usually very picky when staying in hotels he was extremely happy with this one. Staffs are amazing super super friendly and polite. The environment is so relaxing and I love that their pool is open until 11pm so we spend a good time relaxing in the pool and hot tub before going to bed.

Highly recommend hotel! The garden grounds/landscaping is so beautiful & they have nice walking paths. Everyone is so friendly & nice. Next time will plan a longer stay. Excellent lunch/dinners menu. It was nice having a continent breakfast that you can sit down in the restaurant area & eat. Other places provided brown paper sack breakfast! Thank You Village Green Inn for providing us with an excellent service

Rustic, but wonderful.
It is the cleanest, well kept hotel. O stay in hotels all the time. Usually newer hotels. This one may be older, but it is well kept. I brought my dog and there is a lot of property to take a walk with your dog. She loved the property. The staff are very friendly and helpful in every way. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. Because i was travelling alone this time i went into the lounge for meals. I enjoyed the live music nightly. Each band played a different type of music. It was wonderful to have a variety. If I had one complaint it would be that the bar stools are to short for the heighth of the bar. I plan to stay there anytime I have a need in Cottage Grove.
