When I travel for leisure, I like to look for a great value when it comes to my airfare, rental car, and hotel/lodging accommodations.
Planning for my recent trip to Cincinnati, I browsed my favorite website for a place to stay. I came upon the Quality Inn & Suites Cincinnati. For the amount of time I was going to be in the room, it seemed like a great option for location, function, and price, after looking at the mixed reviews.
Upon entering the room, I had a feeling this wasn't going to be my favorite experience. I ran the air conditioning for my entire 3 day stay at 66 degrees. While it was cool in the room, the moisture was never decreasing. In addition to that, I found the room in 'moderate' repair and unnecessarily poor cleanliness. The luggage rack was rusty, there was an object wedged in the peephole, the lamps/bases were dusty, and the showerhead was not properly mounted (it moved when I adjusted the angle of the head).
While I know it's challenging to be perfect in every room, every day, some of the issues I had are inexcusable. This visit was far below my expectations. I hope that Expedia chooses to not offer lodging like this to its guests and I can't imagine Quality Inn & Suites as well as Choice Hotels, wants a branded property like this in its portfolio.
