I called for an early check in. The owner wasn’t in, but said it should be fine. I arrived at 1:15pm, but there was no one working. I waited a bit and then went back to Crabbe to wait for checkin at 3pm. I returned at 320pm and still no one was there, so I called. The owner said he wasn’t in due to an injury, but the cook would be in at 4pm and the other employee would be back at some point. He told me where to find the key and I was able to get into my room, but it was unprofessional and inconvenient for how much I was paying.
I had my two kids with me (6&8), and when he realized that, he charged an extra $30 for the third person. The additional cost was unreasonable, as they are small children and we shared the bed.
We couldn’t sleep until after 9pm with everyone downstairs being so loud in the bar/restaurant, so I don’t recommend for people with children or for those who are looking for a quiet, early night.
We were looking forward to the outdoor hot tub, but it was broken. The room had a queen bed, a small chair, and a fold down table; fine to crash after a day on the slopes, but don’t expect anything more than that. The shared washroom and the room were very clean. I don’t complain about hotels normally, but the entire experience was lacking.
I won’t be staying again, as the price reflects lack of other options, not what you’re actually getting: mediocre amenities and subpar service. $150 for a bed was outrageous.
