This lake house did not disappoint. The pictures are nothing compared to the real thing. You step into a high-quality design architecture digest-worthy home. From the landscaping, and beautifully decorated home to the well-stocked kitchen. I usually have to buy a ton of items to make my family comfortable however not at Kim's Lake house. They thought of everything. Ample silverware, toiletries, cushions, TVs, and even a reading and computer nook. You never know how much a home could bring you joy until you stay at a home like this. We were in love with the lake view, and the quiet peaceful neighborhood. Slept so comfortably in the king-size bed together with all the other rooms so well portioned and positioned in the home. The master suite was so comfortable that just that room would have been enough for me for the entire stay. All I can say is thank you Kim for your kindness with our last-minute updates. Your prompt responses throughout made this so easy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me and my family. I hope to return again very soon.

Lakeside tranquility getaway with friends
I've stayed at many VRBOs over the years but Blue Oar has really set the bar high for me from now on. Firstly, the location setting was perfect. A quiet street with gorgeous lake views that can be enjoyed from the large front porch with comfy seating to include a relaxing porch swing. There is plenty of parking. And lots of outside space as well, not only there at the house, but at the private beach area that has a cool firepit and a dock with seating. When we were there it was too early in the season to enjoy the lake but during the summer I imagine it would be amazing with the many water activities you could enjoy. I want to complement the owners for how well appointed their rental is. We enjoyed cooking several of our meals in the kitchen and it was as well appointed as any of our own homes. Everything you could need is provided. The bathrooms were equally well appointed and the house is so charming. We loved the living area, with the comfortable couches and seating and a couple of us needed to check into work and made good use of the little office/library room just off the front entryway area. They had also provided many board games and we used the dining table area in the evenings to enjoy playing games. There were little extras here and there throughout the house that we discovered during our stay. Rarely do you find a rental property where you feel "at home" but Blue Oar felt like a home away from home for me, and the rest of our friend group as well. Thank you!

Perfect- right out of a catalog
The house was perfect!! The decor looked like it was straight out of a pottery barn catalog. We had a wide age range of family staying at house and they thought of everything. The first floor bathroom and bedroom was perfect for someone with limited mobilty. This place would be awesome in the summer with all the fun lake stuff they have, and the chairs right on the lake. Would love to check this place out in the summer.

Perfect Getaway
We had a girls weekend here. The house is decorated so cute inside and out! We all had plenty of comfortable space and more importantly when 6 of us needed to shower there was plenty of hot water! The kitchen is so well stocked and everything was so lovely. We all were looking for a weekend to come back! This is such a gem and we had such a good time!

Wonderful spot for a girls weekend!
This was our second visit to the beautiful Blue Oar. This time we were celebrating our 40 year college reunion at nearby SUNY Fredonia. The Blue Oar is a wonderfully updated older home, tastefully decorated and very well appointed. It was clean, comfortable and very warm and inviting. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Great stay at Blue Oar!
My mother in law loved her weekend getaway at the Blue Oar to celebrate her birthday. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and had plenty of space for a family weekend. We spent an entire day using the outdoor amenties at the house. The fire pit, paddleboat, and kayaks were all great. If we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely come back!

The property is beautiful and extremely well-equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was a joy to use to prepare our meals. There are numerous outdoor games, etc in the huge garage which we enjoyed using. Neighborhood was lovely and a nice place to walk and ride bikes . My family wants to return again next year.

Off season at the Blue Oar
The Blue Oar was a lovely property for a short family lake getaway. Incredibly well appointed with lots of yard games and lake activities! Lovely, quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend. The surrounding towns do seem to shut down after Labor Day, so that is just something to be aware of when booking dates! We had a hard time finding open restaurants.

We had the best weekend at the Blue Oar. Was the best stocked VRBO I’ve ever seen, with every possible amenity and extra. I messaged the owner with several questions leading up to our stay, and Kim was immediate and helpful in her responses. The property was clean and impeccably decorated. Simply the Best!
This recent trip was our 6th year at the Blue Oar and it never fails to disappoint. My family and I took full advantage of the amenities, and were pleased to find a smaller kayak for children to use. After so many years, we finally decided to head to the Stockton Hotel for dinner and came away very impressed. We made our usual trips to the Dunkirk beaches and Midway for the kids, as well as Bemus Point, which is a short trip away. We've already booked for next year and look forward to checking out the Blie Canoe as well.

Lasting Memories
We had a fantastic time at Blue Oar in Cassadaga. Kim is an amazing host, so energetic and informative. The house is beautifully decorated and every need thoughtfully considered. We watched beautiful sunrises over Lake Cassadaga from the front porch. There is a huge backyard and all the countless treasures inside the garage (bikes, games, toys). We had our own private pier and fire pit which we loved! At the pier, the paddleboat was a hit, along with the kayaks and paddle boards. There was plenty to do for kids and adults alike. You really can't do better in a rental, given the quality of home and all that's provided. We took away nothing but great memories.

Fabulous Property and Stay
This property is absolutely gorgeous and the amenities are top notch! Our whole family had an amazing Memorial Day weekend with so many things for everyone to do — paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat, fishing and biking. The owner has literally thought of everything. We had perfect weather so the outdoor activities were paramount. Even if the weather did not cooperate, we would have had plenty to do inside. The kitchen was great as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. So cozy in the living room and porch— plenty of room for all of us! We’ve already booked our stay for next year!

The Blue Oar
The house and entire property are very well appointed and cozy. Beautiful views of Cassadaga Lake. The amenities are top notch and the owner was very accommodating . There is no need to leave the house and property because it is so dreamy and relaxing. The porch and dockside area are amazing! This house is perfect for all seasons of the year. Perfect Lakeside Retreat
My sisters, husband, and I needed a place to be close to our father's family and this was the perfect place. We were lucky to have a beautiful fall week but look forward to coming back during the summer to enjoy the lakeside amenities, including a fire pit with plenty of firewood. We stayed during Halloween, Kim provided a huge bowl of candy, unbeknownst to us this was the main trick or treating route - it made for a perfect way to spend a perfect fall evening. There is no other way to describe this property other than perfection!!! Third time my friends and I have stayed in this beautiful home and it's never a disappointment. Everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay is provided. Plenty of cooking utensils, dishes, kitchen gadgets at your fingertips. The entire house is squeaky clean. The electric fireplace adds a warm and comfy touch. Plenty of firewood wood available if needed. The deck area is great for enjoying the lake with a warm cup of cocoa or coffee. Fun, relaxing family vacation
The Blue Oar is a fantastic vacation spot. The house is very well stocked and has tons of activities to do inside and out. Games, bikes, kayaks, SUP, pedal boat, etc. It is also just a half hour drive to some nice towns with more things to do and see. The lake is quiet and it is very relaxing to sit on the private dock and take in the beautiful surroundings. The house is very well organized and had everything we needed to prepare meals for 7 people.

Making Memories!
Gorgeous lake-house. The owner has thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and at home! This is our second year visiting the Blue OAR and it was fantastic (again). You cannot beat the location and setup. Our young kids and family had the best time. Lots of equipment and activities to enjoy on the property (yard games, floats, paddle boards, etc). I could go on and on. Highly recommend you book this for your next trip to WNY if you are looking for comfort and relaxation. Hopeful our schedules allow us to return!!

This is a very old house that has been very tastefully and thoughtfully updated. It is small, set up in a shotgun style - when you enter from the back you enter the kitchen, to dining room, to living area. They have had to make creative use of the space (there is a bit of a squeeze getting around the bed in the main bedroom). The house is across the street from the lake and there are close neighbors on both sides. But it is a quiet peaceful area. Lots of amenities for outdoor fun and well stocked inside.

Your perspective is appreciated. Many of the photos do show the quiet local gravel road between the main property and the newly 75ft of landscaped waterfront private beach area. The house is a 1925 Craftsman Style home built by a local family and has been updated, inside and out, to suit a modern lifestyle including the brand new kitchen and all newly remodeled bathrooms with Carrara marble. A very exciting history indeed! Many of our guests come back year after with their families as it is a very quiet small town family community. The master on-suite features a King Restoration Hardware bed and Tempur Pedicure mattress with a TV lounge area and sectional couch. The connected master bath features a double vanity and whirlpool tub. The other 3 bedrooms provide more bed access space if that is necessary as we wanted the master have the largest bed overlooking the full view of the lake-amazing to wake-up to morning sunrises! Happy to hear you enjoyed peaceful experience and the well stocked home!

Beautiful BlueOar lake home
Just back from a 4 night stay at this wonderful lakeside home. We could not have been more delighted with the perfect accommodations, every little detail is so thought out and planned. So much room to spend both indoors and out, yard games, bikes , even a wagon which our little granddaughter loved being pulled in! My husband fished from the large dock every day and was thrilled with so many catches! Although we did not use the kayaks, those were available as well. Also , I can’t say enough about the friendly neighbors and beautiful outdoor surroundings . The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had and offered suggestions for things to do as well. Everything labeled and well stocked for cooking. Although we did not use the grills or firepit, those are also provided ( we just ran out of time!!) All and all, this was a perfect getaway! Bravo to Kim!

Girls weekend
This home is beautiful and every detail has been thought of. There are four of us girls who get together annually for a wine tasting weekend usually at the Finger Lakes. We decided to change it up and do Southern Tier instead this year. The area is beautiful but we are past season and found many places had reduced hours or already closed. Didn’t matter. Kim has enough activities available the the Blue Oar to keep us entertained. Games, books, bikes, kayaks, etc. We had a lot of rain so spent more time indoors than our but were never bored. The beds are all comfortable snd the linens were luxurious. Three full baths are wonderful when it’s a group of girls. We all agreed this is the nicest place we’ve stayed in yet and we’ve been renting lakefront properties for five years now.
