There was no one at the lodge, had to wait over half hour for someone to ring me back with a pin so I could enter. The room I got was nothing like in the photos.

Iamge showed an ensuite bathroom but there was none and the loos had wee all over the toilet floors. Showers were soaked and horrible.

Bare bones, run down and very basic. Comfortable beds, with bar heater set upon arrival (nice touch). The pool would be a blessing in summer, but in winter, this place is very little more than a place to rest for a night.

Needs a lot of attention from Management
Very tired property and run down and bed would benefit from being replaced, but essentially has everything you need for a quick overnight stop. It’s on the Main Street with eateries and pubs within walking distance. Street parking only. Shared bathroom facility was clean. kitchen was old but had the necessities. Poor value for what we paid but there was nothing left to book by the time we booked.

Great location, nice management
The location is superb. The room is basic yet you have all you need. The common area is very spacious. The management team is nice and helpful. I had a red-eye bus ride departing at 3:45am and they let me store the luggage and stay in the common area to wait for the bus after I checked out.

Nice place in Broken Hill
Staff is super friendly. The place has a nice kitchen and communal area (with a TV). Tourist visitor information is just around the corner and all major sights and museums are in walking distance (5 to 10 minutes). Place is very clean. My room was comfortable and in good condition. There is also a pool which I didn't use.

I stayed two nights with a friend. We had a very friendly and helpful greeting. If no one is at the desk, you ring their number on your phone. This place is old and the floor boards creak, particularly loudly in the room we were allotted. No one would be able sneak in or out without being heard! But after we got used to it, the floor became part of the quaintness of the lodge. Facilities are basic like a hostel, but we enjoyed meeting other travelers as you do in these settings.

This place was oe of the cheaper properties but the room reflected this. The air conditioner (ancient) was hidden behind the old window curtains which had to be lifted to allow air flow. However, Broken Hill is having a tough time with current drought and any useful renovations could not be funded with present visitation. All round, probably reasonable value for money.

Good stay!
Very affordable price for solo traveller, it is so hard to find low cost accommodation at country side. I was happy to have clean room, hot shower and able to cook my own dinner. It's not very loud at night, and since it's closed to information centre. Anyone can just walk there to get the information needed for the trip. The owner looks like about to sell it, hope whoever buying it would provide same quality of service.

Pleasant surprise for the budget conscious
A pleasant backpackers with all the old world charm and a nice vibe. Clean, comfortable and very affordable. Heater supplied in room for those chilly desert nights, floor boards are a bit creaky and the walls are paper thin, but hey it was only $55 for the night

Broken Hill
On my way from Perth to Sydney by bicycle, this was a well-earned break from camping. The accommodation was comfortable with a good atmosphere. The kitchen facilities were good and a short work into town. I'd recommend this place if staying in Broken Hill.

Only stayed for one night. Arrived on the bus at 11.00pm Broken Hill time but the owner was kind enough to meet me at the coach terminal and showed me to my room. The room is pretty basic but is clean and reasonably comfortable. But for the price it's really great

I've been in Australia for a year and this hostel/lodging was the best place I"ve stayed when considering the cost and value. The staff were wonderful, the rooms simple but clean, the kitchen facilities spotless and well organized and the pool was lovely. The shared bathroom facilities were spotless and shiny new!

Review of an 78 year old lady guest.
I can't fault anything, cleanliness of facilities and rooms was A1. It was obvious the owners/managers have had many years in the tourist industry. From my arrival on Monday 12 October to my departure 15 October 2015 I cannot say I have any complaint.

Good Tourist Resort close to everything.
We had a wonderful stay with the Broken Hill Tourist Lodge. We needed peace and quiet in the evenings and found that. The Lodge is close to galleries and the Station which is very handy. There is a small IGA opposite which supplied our cooking needs. The Proprietor and staff are friendly and helpful.
