We loved the Royal Albert. It’s so well located in the centre of Brisbane & right next to Queen St Mall. Large rooms, with all the amenities (like housekeeping & room service) of a good hotel but also the convenience of being like an apartment, with a little kitchen and a washer and dryer. The only criticism is the shower doesn’t get super hot, but that’s not a huge problem in such a warm location.

Our room was large. The kitchen was not functional because there were no pots and pans, no dinner plates, no toaster or water cooker. I had thought there would be a dish towel and dishwashing liquid, but there was not. For a 3-night stay, I had not planned to purchase these items. The rain shower head in the shower had such low water pressure that it was difficult to rinse the soap and shampoo. We appreciated having a washer and dryer but were not prepared to purchase laundry soap. The reception staff were helpful in ordering taxis for us and we thank them for that. We needed them to get to our medical and surgery appointments.

Stayed in the Sub Penthouse. Bathroom door handle was missing and covered in black electrical tape. Door would not close or lock. Front desk told us to park across the street to validate. Ended up not validating because it was the wrong car park. Ended up paying 100 dollars to park one night overnight.

Good location ... that's about it. Hotel is not in very good condition, WIFI is the slowest i have seen in a while (often no connection available at all -> which was the case in most places of the hotel). Room service was very poor (i think they were in there for like 1-2min to empty the bins, but that was about it), dusty place. There were also extra charges for AMEX, which they did not inform me about (i know it's a small issue, but i personally think it should be mentioned) I will not be staying there anymore...

The property is in a great location with plenty of shopping and dining options. However, the property needs a refurbishment. The pillows provided were flat and less than ideal. The air-conditioning is less than ideal. The bed in the second bedroom is only fit for a child.

I stayed in a Deluxe Room, which I believe most people would consider a bit outdated - but it was a large space, and quiet despite being on the second floor overlooking the street. Comfortable bed, good shower, quiet a/c. Well equipped kitchenette. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downsides were no power socket by the bed (the cable for the bedside light comes directly out of the wall!), and the entrance and shower room were on a different level from the rest of the room - it’s necessary to go up and down four steps to go between the two parts of the room. Note that the room description on Expedia says there is a “Safe” in the room, but this is a lie - there is no safe. The hotel really should remove the “Safe” item from the room description of all room types that don’t have one actually in the room. I have rated the hotel “Poor” (4/10) for communication for this reason.

I had the worst experience staying in this property, 1, Booking this property, there was no mention of paying Bond deposit, so I completed my reservation and all payment fully made. The property reception called me and I advised them that on my arrival time. Excellent location is the CBD. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around, easy to navigate around the area. If I did have a complaint it was the construction in front which made it difficult to get picked up and dropped off, but that’s a minor inconvenience and loved everything about the area and hotel would definitely book again.

Great property in a great location. For the moment access is compromised by infrastructure updates - but this will not go on for long. Rooms were a great size with fixtures and fittings more toward the faded grandeur than contemporary. Highly recommended.
