Outdated and hair in my shower
Outdated hotel with hair in my shower. The cleaning of the room daily only consisted of restocking my soap, no bed making or anything (or cleaning of someone else’s hair in my drain).

Stayed here for 5 nights! Room was clean and spacious, and what I really liked was being so central too the CBD and botanical gardens right outside.

We have a very pleasant stay over the weekend. It is across the road from the beautiful City Botanic Gardens, near Queen Street Mall, friendly staff, clean rooms. That is everything you need for a holiday!

Big apartments, well located, poor service
Good sized apartments in a good location near the Botanic Gardens. Apartments are a little dated,and the one i stayed in could have had some more kitchen utensils eg a frypan and some tongs.. basic items I would have thought. However the biggest disappointment was the lack of service. i arrived at 8.30 pm and couldn't get into the building, had to knock on the door of the staff members who walked passed me twice before paying any attention and letting me in. The person who checked me in treated me as if i was disrupting his evening, although he was quite efficient. The following night I had to go in search of someone to serve me a drink at the bar at 5.30pm in the evening.. other guest told me the staff member was setting up a function,so i headed to reception to get some service... slow wait once again. Whilst I acknowledge its an apartment hotel, the level of service for the price being charged and an apparent 4 star rating was very disappointing.

Great location, high end, clean rooms, top notch!
Great location right across from the river, park, wheel of Brisbane, shops, restaurants and bars, tons of them. Our room was huge, we had a washer and dryer, gigantic balcony, kitchen, living room, great place. The lobby is first class with a nice restaurant. We both loved our breakfast dishes.

Lovely location with great views
This is a very good hotel with good amenities including a kitchen. The location is great being adjacent to the botanical gardens, in one of the quieter locations in the city. My only issue is paying $4.50 for a bucket of ice to be sent up by room service!

Quiet & comfortable
Husband and I stayed here in a garden-view room for one night to get away from our noisy neighbours and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Was pleasantly surprised at the size and condition of the room. Had everything you needed and was very comfortable and quiet. It's also very convenient to the Brisbane CBD, without the noise of the major streets. The only negative was the cost of the parking, especially when there aren't a lot of alternatives. It just feels wrong to charge that much for people who don't have a lot of choice. That aside, we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect hotel for a special stay
My husband and I stayed for one night and loved the apartment, location and great view. The room was on the 18th floor and had great views from Southbank to Kangaroo Point. We chose Quay West as it had a balcony which was incredible to sit and have a drink while watching the sun go down. Much better than being stuck inside looking out a window. It was also lovely overlooking Botanical Gardens and seeing trees rather than cement. The apartment was well appointed and had fully equipped kitchen which was a nice surprise in a city motel.

Good Hotel Fabulous park views
Lovely Hotel with Fabulous views of the park. Great having the City shuttle at our door. Staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Bedroom was very comfortable. Kitchen didn't have enough utensils for cooking a meal, however we managed. Cleanliness was questionable for the Sebel, with hair still left in the bathroom sink and bins not cleaned after room was supposedly cleaned. A little disappointing for the Sebel.

5star accommodation? I don't think so.
Bathroom/kitchen dated. There's been no dustpan/brush provided and no toilet brush. When we asked for the third time housekeeping gave us a used toilet brush, s..t still hanging on it. My wife returned this to reception, where she was given a laugh when handing the brush back, no apologies offered (or a new brush). You would think this would be a bare minimum (toilet brush) in an accommodation at this rate. So my wife went and bought a toilet brush for AUD 2,- and I bought a dust pan/brush for another AUD 2,-. Our room was on the 5th floor near the elevator, therefore the noise from the elevator was very disturbing (we've two small children) and though we've been offered a room a bit further away from the elevators, it was on the 2nd floor and the street noise (Alice st) was also very disturbing. In the end we didn't take it as we didn't know whether it'd be worse to be on the 2nd. The only plus side is the closeness to the botanical garden. Only if you don't mind the noise from the street (really very loud). Would we stay here again? NO.

This is not a 5 star hotel (3 or 4 star)
This hotel is actually not bad, but it's a dis-service to them to rank them as a 5 star - because people who booked thinking they will get a 5 star will only be disappointed. Carpets and paint in rooms dated, lobby not exception. All facilities in room good - laundry, kitchen, etc. Gym and swimming pool good - but again, all equipment in the gym is well past use by date. Note that the concierge is not 24 hours, key card entry after hours.

Great location, great views, very comfy.
Excellent hotel with good service from most of the staff. Decor is a bit daggy/dated for the price but adequate. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've every slept on! Anywhere! Ever! Shower facilities were below standard with VERY noisy plumbing. Excellent kitchen facilities if you plan to cook.

Great experience
Comfortable beds, clean and good size apartment and convenient location. Balcony looking out to botanical gardens was lovely. Booked through secret hotel so happy with the price too! Spa wasn't working which was only drawback for the children.

Disappointing Stay
Booked this hotel as a mystery 5 star hotel. I have stayed in a number of 5 star hotels and sorry to say, this is not one. 4 to 4.5 star. Pulled up, no one to greet us at the valet station. Entered the beautiful lobby and checked in with Jeff who was lovely. Took $150 pre authorisation off the card (usual practice ) then told that parking was $40 per day which is bloody ridiculous! Was also told about charges to wifi but stated if we were Accor members (which I am), it would be free. I didn't have my Accor card on me but was told he would look it up and gave us info on how to set it up (couldn't get it to work). When trying to log in it statex the free wifi is for 30 mins and to be used in the hotel lobby! Rooms were ok, nothing amazing. We had 3 adults travelling (advised at the time of booking) and had to get housekeeping up to set up the sofa bed. Asked for more coffee and milk (as we had just driven 7 hours and had a cuppa on arrival) and only received a few more pkts coffee tea and sugar but no milk. The balcony outside our room was spacious and looks over the parklands near Parliment house. Looking down at the entry point could still see my car parked at reception. Took a while for it to be parked. Shower had mould growing on the tiles. Windows are not noise proof and could hear traffic at night. Took my Son for a swim. Pool area lovely but spa covered up and a sign saying unavailable for use due to maintenance (broken). Dsapointing stay for what it is advertised as.

Lovely city apartment overlooking gardens
Very comfortable, roomy apartment in the city overlooking the botanical gardens. Handy to all the shopping and great for walking in the gardens (or admiring them from the balcony). It's not the newest apartment building but it's clean and the staff are very helpful.

Great location but...
Great location and I dont mind the decor at all, however my issue was with the amount of black hair on the bathroom floor, the shower, the bed and god knows where else, I assume it is from the cleaners and if so I strongly suggest they wear hairnets. The doors all had dirty hand marks over them and as I attempted to wipe them myself it was definitely an oversight in their part. Apart from this it would have been a lovely stay, like I said excellent location, great views and balcony is of good size. This place does have the potential to be excellent and 5 star worthy if they just pay more attention to the cleaning.

Love the Balcony overlooking the Botanical Gardens
Easy to get in and out of. Fast efficient check in/out. Perfect for a longer stay in Brisbane due to the kitchen. Nice to sit out on the Balcony in the afternoon with a quiet drink overlooking the Botanical Gardens. VERY disappointed we were charged extra at checkout for our 2 children (age 11/14). When booking we had included them complete with ages. My itinerary had 2A 2C. Normally this is included in the price when booking via Wotif. It was a rude and disappointing shock to be charged a further $46 at checkout. I was so angry, however not the person's fault at the front desk. Here we thought we had value for money through Wotif and there were hidden costs. Come on Wotif, be open and transparent.

I stayed on level 2. With the windows closed i was woken through the night and early from the street traffic and noise. The hotel is very dated. It was disappointing because I booked this as a mystery hotel that was to be a 5 star hotel - it certainly is not a 5 star hotel, in terms of condition. The staff were very helpful - very polite. The curtains in the hotel were torn and old. To be fair to the hotel - it was more a case of it not meeting expectations which is lastminute.com's fault, not the hotels, due to the fact that this hotel was not offered at 40% off (which the mystery hotel deal alludes to), and nor (in my opinion) should it be listed as a five star hotel.

Arrived and noone was around at valet parking or reception. Had to walk around to find someone to checkin and take our car. Room was in very poor condition. Stains all over carpet and furniture. Marks and chips in paint all over the walls. Was not the condition of a 5 star hotel.

Nice hotel, great location.
Though we enjoyed our stay, none of us slept as we were much too hot. The air conditioner worked beautifully in the kitchen/living room but no cool air was going into the two bedrooms.. Door in the main bedroom was extremely difficult to open

A fantastic oasis for your stay in Brisbane
Arrived an hour early for Check-In (during a summer heat-wave) The wonderful staff were able to check us in immediately. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean. The Air-Con a blessing. Wonderful views over the Gardens. Will definitely stay during my next visit.

Very dated! Doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel
The hotel is mainly all converted in full time apartments. Only 40 rooms are rented as hotel. It is very dated with minimum service available. From the time you enter the hotel, it just doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel, with a small bar/restaurant area next to the lifts and that's it. The spa is out of order. The pool doesn't have any towels near the pool. The furniture in the rooms are so old and ugly. The fittings are old and grumpy. Most of my light bulbs were broken and needed replacing.

Out dated, dirty, disappointing
Our first room left use feeling like they'd given us the key to someone's room-there was left over food in the fridge, makeup on the towels, hair on the floor on the bathroom and a used glass on the coffee table. The front desk was apologetic and moved us to another room, which while clean, smelt stale and had very dated furniture and a very uncomfortable bed. Having arrived late and hungry we ordered room service which we soon regretted-1 dish was pasta that was over cooked and flavourless and the other looked and tasted like the steak had been boiled/stewed. We were too tired (and hungry) to complain but as we travel to QLD frequently, we would not be staying again

Relaxing and convenient
Lovely and rejuvenating place to stay with great amenities like room service, good coffee, bar and restaurant downstairs. The pool and sauna were a bonus and luxurious beds. Easy walking distance to gardens, river, city and docklands. A great stay!

Lovely clean and air-conditioned room with balcony
The Quay West staff were excellent and very accommodating. On arrival staff were friendly and helpful. The double bed was comfortable, the room air-conditioned and clean with all ammenities and a balcony with a beautiful view overlooking the park. Chris from reception was particularly helpful one morning when I had left some important notes behind and within 20 mins had them couriered to me. Quay West is definitely my choice of hotel when staying in Brisbane CBD.

Beautiful view over the botanical gardens
The reception desk staff were amazing. They printed out our boarding passes and suggested heaps of things to do for overseas guests who were struggling with the foreign environment. When the building work finishes next door the noise on that side will be quieter. Our garden side wasn't noisy at all.
