“We love this hotel”
The last stop on our trip and we wished we had been there the whole time. The staff was really friendly, the food and the beverages were tasty. The rooms were very well decorated. It was a gem in Idaho. We will be back.
“The Modern”
The staff,food,decor,and bar are fantastic. Any time I need to go to Boise, the Modern is where I will stay. The beds were very comfortable, pillows soft and very nice. the shower and bathroom were top of the line.

The hotel was a great especially for the price. The bed was very comfortable, updated fixtures in the bathroom. The room was small but very functional. The bar and breakfast were fantastic. Great service by the staff. I would definitely recommend staying here on business or pleasure. However, no amenities for kids.
“definitely Modern!”
The beds at the Modern Hotel are amazingly comfortable! I almost didn't want to get up in the morning. The look of the room is sort of retro-modern-1960s-ish. The bathroom is really cool looking but not, unfortunately, as functional as a more normal bathroom would be. The sink is a huge shallow square, very striking, but it's hard to reach the running water because the basin is so big! (and no, I don't have exceptionally short arms!) The shower is a beautifully tiled area. Sometimes it's almost impossible to figure out how to adjust water temperature in a hotel shower, but this one has an excellent system. The showerhead is concealed in the ceiling so the water comes straight down, like rain. A lovely idea, but not ideal for shampooing and also a little awkward for having the water reach certain areas of anatomy. (TMI?) The clerks at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast had yummy croissants and freshly squeezed OJ in a relaxing setting. The location is great for exploring downtown Boise on foot. Even with the drawbacks of the bathroom, I would stay at the Modern again.
“Very solid hotel”
The hotel was convenient to Downtown and the other places I needed to get. Our room was very comfortable with a nice bed and a really nice shower. In some places form was emphasized over function--most notably an extremely shallow, stylized bathroom sink. I also like the hotel bar, which specializes in contemporary updates of classic cocktails, and which also served a solid continental breakfast and gave us trays to take it back to our room. Overall we had a good experience and would stay again if we have a reason to go back to Boise.
“Great hotel for the price!”
The Modern Hotel is a great value. Despite it being a renovated motel, the feel of the hotel inside and out is chic and hip. The included breakfast is a perk and it's proximity to downtown is very convenient as well. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Boise.

The Modern was great! Comfortable, clean rooms, easy walking distance to downtown, and one of the best bars I have been to. Loved it!

The Modern hotel has amazing beds, I had never slept so well in a hotel.
“Very "Modern" at the Modern in Boise”
The Modern is a real gem in downtown Boise. The rooms are clean and have very modern feel to them. The bathroom with a walk in shower is awesome especially when it comes standard. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. No need for the pillow that I brought from home. In fact if the Moderne would have let me buy the matteress and pillows I would have done so. It was much more comfortable than what I have at home. While your staying at the Moderne check out the bar and have a drink. The drinks are one of a kind and if you like drink a lot the bartender may give you the receipe. This is a great place to stay when you are in Boise.
