I would like to start off by saying that the staff were kind and super friendly. The place (during the day) was nice. 3 small things that my husband and I did not like was one the water in our room (room 9). When I was trying to wash my face and brush my teeth, I would turn on the cold water and I kid you not it was warm, it was not cold at all. I had to wait 5 minutes for the water to go from warm to cold.. 5 minutes. Why? Secondly, the private beach. When I booked this hotel and read in the reviews that there was a private beach, I was excited. However, when we got there we couldn't find it. We saw a long trail that we thought maybe could have been the private beach but there was a sign that said "Private Property" my husband and I assumed it wasn't part of the hotel. When we were checking out (today - May 24th, 2024) that's when I asked a front desk lady who told me that "oh ignore that. Guest who are staying here go there for the private beach" I wish I had knew that before or there was a sign that said "Private Beach here!" something for guest to know. Lastly, my husband and I got to the hotel around 9:10pm when we were told that staff were not available and will be closing at 10:00pm. I knew the hotel was not a 24 hour service but at night was a little scary, on top of that it felt like we had the whole building to ourselves as we were the ONLY car in the parking lot! I was getting uncomfortable. Overall, it was a nice place but I wouldn't come back again.

Our stay was just one night but the staff was really great at making sure we were accommodated on our arrival. A key was left for us in a lock box and we were able to check ourselves in. There were a couple of VERY SMALL stains on the bedsheets but we weren’t bothered by it. We ordered wine to our room and it was lovely. Thank you for a great stay, will definitely return and recommend.

Just came back from a wonderful evening and stay. Just by chance our stay coincided with the Harvest Festival Dinner and Tasting at the winery. Spectacular foot, wonderful wines and service and the setting was perfect. Rooms in the Inn are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. Would come again for sure, maybe for the tasting dinner in the summer❤️🤞

Clean comfortable could use an update
Very clean and nice country Inn, it needs a bit of an update. Yet still really clean and comfortable, the bed in the high end suite was amazing quality with great linens.

Very clean and neat but we were in the studio suite. Very steep stairs and a very odd layout. It’s obvious t is an afterthought and they made a room out of attic space. Having said that, they did the best they could with the space. Just don’t expect luxury. We would stay again

The first night, we stayed in the "suite" - it was in the attic of the house with lots of stairs which I was unaware of. The room was weirdly set up - with the TV in a very awkward spot where you could only see it clearly from one chair - you could not see it from the bed, and the sofa was too far away (as the TV screen was small. The windows had blinds, but no "black out" shades so at 6:00 in the morning, the room was completely lit up from the rising sun - not so great if you want to sleep in. It had a nice soaking tub and a lovely balcony, but if we were to return, we would definitely not stay in the "suite". The second night we stayed in a regular room which was much better. We did not partake of the food as there was very little offering for plant-based, vegan eating. The surrounding grounds were beautiful. The inn had access to the lake which no one told us about and we found it by chance on the second day - would have been nice to know about it!

Although the room was quite ordinary, there was a beautiful pool and grounds and a very proficient and friendly person at the front desk. The winery and restaurant were closed for the day and we were given only a few days notice. The private beach was disappointing - very stony, no shade.

Property is beautiful with the winery but our room smelt so bed. Like mildew and it was damp in there. The bathroom had hair all over it and an old roll of toilet paper on the floor when we arrived. The bathroom had mold all around the ceiling

We had a wonderful time at Hessenland! Meghan made check in a breeze and we were very happy with our room- super clean, comfy beds, Coastal Coffee. Dinner was superb with local ingredients, delicious preparation. We had the pork schnitzel with spaetzle. Super French toast with local bacon or sausage and maple syrup. Will definitely return during better weather to enjoy the pool, beach and gardens..

The property outside and inside was beautiful They definitely spend alot of time maintaining the facility… the staff was very polite… the room was very clean. I had the best French toast for breakfast that I’ve ever had, that is the truth , and the syrup was local from Bayfield which complimented the French toast all the better . The prices are very good as well … I would highly recommend you stay here and especially enjoy the wine made on the grounds…we will be plain staying here again for sure … Thank you Hessenland family

Great weekend get away with my husband. Stayed in the coach suite which is a quaint room choice and separate from the main inn. This room offers a balcony which we used to have a bottle of wine that we requested to be in our room on arrival Although the room was dated, the bed was very comfortable and linens very clean. The property is absolutely gorgeous. The gardens are beautiful and the pool very clean and quiet. We also used the inn’s private beach which is a 10 min walk or 2 min car ride. Overall we were very pleased with this experience.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights in a Premium Suite and we had the most amazing time. The room was beautiful, the outdoor pool was in pristine condition. Every staff member we came across was so kind and helpful. We will definitely be coming back!

Nice grounds with lovely gazebo and many mature trees. Many secluded spots with benches to sit at (some areas have sadly become a little run down would be the only critique). The vineyards look beautiful!

Lovely outside space for the price. Washroom small but mirror outside shower/toilet area made it more convenient. Room basic but clean. Air conditioning fixed at 70 - couldn’t change it - too hot at night for us….also noisy. Restaurant was ok - schnitzel good but rouladen portion too small for price. Pool not heated. Staff friendly.
