The hotel was lovely and staff were polite and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was great and everyone that attended to us were very attentive.

Great hotel - historic property that has been beautifully updated. The location is great - easy walk to lots of sights, shopping, restaurants etc and close to Birmingham New Street station. Staff were friendly, breakfast was tasty. There is no on-site parking but they provide a discount to a nearby car park. Our only complaint was that the bar /restaurant serves absolutely no food after 11pm - even on a Saturday night and when we tried to order room service they had nothing available except meat lasagna (at midnight?!!) or a cheese and tomato sandwich. There were other items on their 24 hour menu but they had run out. This seems pretty unforgivable for an upscale city hotel on a weekend.

Very nice staffing, considerate and very helpful. Concierge were excellent, personable and made me feel at ease. Only down side is I did not stay for long enough!

The hotel was likely one of the better hotels in downtown Birmingham. The rooms were not as large as we believed, but nice and clean. Parking is a big problem. We arrived at midnight and were lucky to have found a place outside. We were advised by the front desk staff to park there until the morning and then move the vehicle to a parking garage 5 minutes away. We did that. It was not convenient. Also we were given misinformation by the front desk, that we would be reimbursed once we gave then the paid ticket, upon check out. At check out we were told that we would have been given a discount code, which we weren't and the fact that we had now paid, it was too late.

Hostess in the bar was rude and unfriendly. Another staff member went to seat us (told us the table was available for an hour which was fine) and she came over and said we couldn’t sit there and then had a row with him in front of us about it. Felt really uncomfortable and left.
We spent our money elsewhere (apart from the hotel room we had already paid for). Their loss.
Party on the ground floor on the Friday night was very loud we could hear it in our room on the 7th floor.
Tried to clean our room at 5.15pm when we had just back after being out all day, so didn’t get our room cleaned after the first night.
Really want to like the hotel, but they made it really hard to after our experience in the bar.

Only complaint is very noisy from function in ballroom. Reception were very apologetic And offered a change in room, but we were on 3rd floor and do not see why I should have to move my belongings around hotel at 23:30. We should not been put in a room so disturbed by booming bass from Ballroom. Not very impressed at all, poor management.

A beautiful hotel in an excellent location, just 10 minutes walk from the shopping and train station. The room was well equipped and very comfortable, with tasteful decor. Only slight disappointment was that we were unable to use the bar. Apparently, it’s table service only and to ensure a table, you have to book in advance, which we weren’t advised of.

Beautiful hotel, room was spotless with great facilities, iron and ironing board, tea coffee, chocolate bars, waters, fridge, toiletries.
Great location for local pubs and restaurants.

A good hotel. The breakfast isn’t great - flavourless eggs and avocado - nor is the gym. But it’s comfortable, the staff are nice, and well located.
