I am so sorry those guests did not enjoy what we do and where we are. Yes, our indigenous cabins are made of wood sticks and are fragile and we do work on them constantly. This is the experience to live in a true indigenous dwelling. Our lighting is solar powered and cannot be compared with regular lighting, but what a pleasure to have 24 hours lightings and ceiling fans out there, all powered by the sun. Our sheets are all clean, those stains are due to too much exposure to jungle leaving, we do have new sets of sheets and towels and will try to avoid to use the older one. Due to the fact that Al Natural is at one hour by boat from Bocas, it is true that you might not have access to all the goods and service as if you were in an hotel in town, hence we do need understanding guests who are aware of where we are. Indeed it is an expensive proposition to run a place like that so far from all in such a harsh environment. And just to be clear, the cost of $400.00 is for three persons, with three meals, wine with dinner and the transfers, and all of that in a true “boutique” hotel with only 7 cabins! The luxury here is the real sense of seclusion that one can experience out here due to the small size of our hotel. Yes, we are proud to work with local indigenous people, they are doing an excellent job, even-though their service cannot be compared to the one rendered by a staff coming out of an hospitality school. But their service is so much more personal and creates a whole different and enriching interaction. It is a requirement for a true ecotourism place to work with local people. As indicated in many other reviews, guests are delighted by our food, it is a blend of Belgium and creole cooking. Note the day we received this review with 1 star, we received another review with 5 starts, for a stay at the same time of the year under the same conditions!
