Convenient location, adequate facilities

Posted 12-Oct-2014
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Not much
Location: Close to downtown i.e. within 5-10minutes walking distance from every downtown attraction (restaurants, bars, music lounges, etc.).
My wife and I stayed at the Four Points for 2 nights while in Asheville for a weekend trip. The hotel is in a prime location, just at the north end of downtown and within 5-10 minutes walking distance of the heart of Asheville. Once we parked our car we had no need to drive anywhere to get around the downtown area. The hotel is modestly appointed but more than adequate for a brief stay. Our room was clean, reasonably quiet and free of many annoyances that lower priced hotel often have. Our room did not have the greatest view as it faced towards a condo complex and another hotel. That may have accounted for the quiet as the other side of the hotel faces the highway. There is a restaurant in the hotel and we used it for breakfast. Once again, it was adequate and met our needs but would not be considered opulent by some travelers. The staff at the hotel are3 friendly and available to attend to the guests' needs but this is not a high-class establishment with overly solicitous staff. Think more like a small town country inn feel. All in all a good experience for us and we will go back when we return to Asheville.

A fresh paint doesn't solve all problems!

Posted 11-Oct-2014
Turn on faucet, black mold rushed out along the side. Sink doesn't drain - washing my face almost overflew the sink (no exaggeration). The worst is that hot water doesn't get more than lukewarm the most, practically took a cold shower in the morning. Awful! Never had such a horrible experience with hotels, ever! The positive side is the location, very close to downtown venues. The fresh paint and lighting are nice.

room is basic, little tired, tear in upholstery splatter stain on drapery. Beds are good as is bath but the water in the sink was luke warm only and shower took a bit of running to warm it up. Room definitely has a mildew smell to it as well. Location is great, staff was friendly, helpful

Close to downtown Asheville.

Overall , good hotel. Clean lobby and friendly staff. Hotel was clean but just dated looking. Only real issue is that you can hear your neighbors in the bathroom. Rooms and halllways have a musty, damp odour. Overall, good value

Good for the price

The hotel overall is ok. The rooms really need some upgrades, huuuuge room and tiny bathroom. But for the price its what i expected. If i paid a higher rate i would have been very upset.

Good Location; Poor Furnishings and Air.

Posted 1-Sep-2014
Pros: Location; Staff especially at front desk; Parking; Free Internet.
Cons: See above; mostly furniture and A/C
Location: Ease of walking distance to town. Excellent choice of things to do in town.
Carpet and chair old and in need of replacement. Sliding door did not lock and room not private from pool. Pool too close to rooms - poor design by architect. Not enough electrical outlets Bathroom counter not good design as toilet is too close. Bed made up as if winter! Bed not too bad a bit soft.
