This guest house is like a hostel in many ways but with the creative use of one lot not a huge property as I thought it would be. We had booked a tent experience which is a screen tent, holding a bed, night tables, lamp and fan, below a roof and side walls. Our unit had a whole side section about 6ft without a barrier so we could see to the next tent, wooden slats around the tent are not together which lets air flow in but gives little privacy. The gate style wooden door into our tent was not wide enough to close so no privacy to the common area. There is a communal kitchen for storing and prepping your food. What surprised me is how quiet the place was and by 8:30-9 people had gone to bed. Young people were very welcoming to us 70 seniors. Two single toilets and two showers communal. Across the road from the beach and a few minute walk to the bus that takes you to the ferry, IGA and other beaches and trails.

Quirky overnighter on Magnetic Island

I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not my usual style of accommodation but so glad we stayed here. It reminded me of school camps with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, happy memories. Communal living room areas, pool table, pizza oven. But the best place to be is spending a lazy afternoon or evening on the deck right opposite the beach chilling, socialising and having good fun with other guests and staff. And the bed was very comfortable. Ian, the owner, has a wealth of local knowledge and will give you great tips to find hidden gems on the Island. They also do car hire with very prompt pick up from the barge/ferry. It really is a great place to stay.

Unreal location and really friendly staff! We stayed in the safari tent which was very nice and the bed was very comfy! Ian and Kev were class and gave us a lot of tips of what to do on the island!

Hi, we are sorry you felt like this with your stay. We have checked all beds and there are no bed bugs etc present. We thoroughly clean and spray our beds after each check out and have not had complaints from any other guest regarding this. It could be possible you may have got bitten from sand flies or something else. Again, apploiges for your stay, we are sorry you were not happy.

Had cabin for 6 people. Only had 2 chairs one nearly falling apart, not enough plates etc. Aircon to small for cabin. Bunk bed unstable. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone

The property was clean, operator pleasant, had a clean deep bath, lots of hot water. Altogether excellent. Free coffee, tea, milk and sugar, good cooking facilities and a welcoming operator who left everyone to use all his stuff... Really refreshing break for us weary travellers...

Great place - need to ask for blankets in winter
Great place to stay, feels like your walking through a mini forest to get to your room. Room was clean and exactly what we wanted. Man at reception was friendly and let us know what there is to do around the area. The only downside was we only had sheets on the beds which meant we all froze through the night and didn't get much sleep. Would be nice to know on arrival that you have to ask for blankets if you want them, would have saved us a freezing night.

We stayed in the ocean view room with balcony and king-sized bed and it was wonderful. Incredible view, lovely kitchen and bathroom. Can hardly wait to stay there again!!!

Arcadia is well located on Magnetic Island & on a bus route. Had a lovely room in the main building. Bed was v comfy & we appreciated the air con. Got great tip for seeing koalas in the wild!

Great stay
We stayed in the safari tents which was a nice change to hotels.. they where very confortable & perfect for a few nights on Magnetic Island. The guest house was clean & had a nice pool area along with an outdoor tv lounge & snooker table.. nice to have chilled nights in. It is a short walk from a few restaurants & shop in Arcadia village & 2 seconds from the beach. I would highly recommend staying here.

Close to beach, can hear the waves, nice rustic decoration but problems with mosquitos, bed not proper to share with a friend so returned second night to home in order to sleep well, price high considering that is only a tent without security, however I ranked high because the gorgeous experience

Quiet, laid back and beautiful views
Our second stay at Arcadia Beach Guest House, as you can't beat the beautiful views over Geoffrey Bay and the gentle, laid back vibe of Arcadia. We love to stay in Lover's Bay room, upstairs, overlooking the bay, where you can sit back and enjoy watching the wonderful variety of birds, the changing tides of the bay and the mini mokes cruising by. We hired a 4WD for a day and enjoyed watching the sun set at West Point, had a lovely swim in Florence Bay and hiked the Fort's walk where we saw koalas and enjoyed the history and lovely views. We love to hear the haunting cry of the curlew birds, so unique to Magnetic Island. Breakfast on the deck, with the rainbow lorikeets is a lovely way to start each day. The weather always seems to be superb.
