“The friendliness of the staff...”
Great Location, Friendly Staff, improvement can be made on breakfast though. But overall a very good value hotel. The staff make your life very easy. They are very helpful in providing you direction in the city. Have a luggage storage so you can put your stuff if you arrive early.
“Would go back without a doubt”
Staff On our arrival we were met by very friendly hotel staff who although we were early due to flights, took our baggage and secured it away for us so we could start out sight seeing. A welcome drink was also offered, as well as a handful of various brochures, maps and safety advice for staying in Amersterdam. Throughout our stay staff couldnt have done enough for us and helped with every query we had. They even made the time before we left to sit with us and ask us about our experience over another compliemtary drink. Location The hotel is located 2 minutes walk away from the royal Palace and national monument and 10 minutes walk from the train station. The red light district was 5 minutes walk away and the Anne frank museum about 200m from the door. It also has tram services next to the hotel for good transport links about the city. Hotel Our room, athough it seemes small to look at, was spacious enough for me and my wife to live comfortably. The decor is a bit outdated but our room was always clean and the bed linen was changed everyday. The entrance steps do seem steep but staff will carry your luggage and the steep stairs can be found in most hotels in Amsterdam so i dont see it as a negative but more of a querky charm. Breakfast is simple but nice, although you have to be early to beat the rush. Even with trams nearby we found this to be a quiet and peaceful hotel and the rooms well heated. I would thoroughly recomend it to younger couples and groups. Great visit!
“Frankly perfect”
The hotel was very clean, friendly and very accessible to all the sights I wanted to see (only a bloc from the Anne Frank house, 5 minutes to Dam Square and 25 minute walk to the Rijksmuseuum and the Van Gogh museum). The bathroom was a little small, but it included a shower.
“Perfect”
Perfect for our needs. Small, but plenty fine for a couple. The toilet and the shower are in a shared space, so it'd be a might uncomfortable to use them simultaneously, but beyond that, no issues at all!
“Small but comfortable”
The hotel was very comfortable, only a short step from dam square and all sights, the owner/manager and staff were fantastic, they could not have helped us anymore, not suitable for people who have trouble with stairs, we would certainly stay there again.
“Great Hotel and Great Location”
We had problems with one of the rooms having an open section to the adjacent room near the roof - which meant that you could hear everything next door. We were given another room the following day after an interrupted nights sleep. I would hope this problem has been solved by now. The staff were friendly, the hotel was comfortable and the location was great for wandering around the canals. I would definitely go back.
“Friendly Place in good location”
The hotel is in an excellent location 2 mins off Dam Square. The room we had was on the top floor and although small we found they had considered a space for everything. The room was spotlessly clean and they had put in fresh flowers for our arrival (a nice touch). All the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone unless they struggle with stairs as the ones in the hotel are steep.
“Very hospitable staff!”
For the price, we could not believe the find this hotel was. The hotel manager and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Yes, the stairs are steep and there were 73 of them to our room on the fourth floor, but if you don't have mobility issues, it's fine. Great location, great breakfast, great staff. We were very pleased.
“Great location,friendly staff”
The room was clean and the staff was great - the location was central to everything in Amsterdam.Good spot for travelers who like to see all the sights.
“I love amsterdam and now i have a place to stay”
the sirvice was great. i lost my paperwork at the airport, so wen i got to the hotel i was worried i would not be able to check in. the kind gentleman looked up all my info for me and checked me right in. all the staff was verry helpfull.they have steep stairs and i was helped with all my luggage without having to ask. they ask before sending housekeeping to your room.it is verry comfortable and affordable i cant wait to go back to mecca and have a frendly place to stay.

Area:
Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
