Our review of this hotel would likely be much higher if we had not booked our room in the basement which we did not realize when we booked (be sure to read carefully). We found the hotel entrance and lobby area to be very nice. We were always greeted by friendly front desk staff and were pleasantly surprised by the free cappuccino marker in the lobby-- a huge bonus for us! There was also a machine with cold water which was great for filling up water bottles, etc. Because of the basement booking, our room was located at the bottom of a truly treacherous spiral staircase-- we are young and active people, but still found the stairs to be very difficult. The room was well decorated and clean, though the bathroom was tiny. Our biggest issue is that the room smelled of musty basement and had a damp feel with little natural light. The mini split system in the room was controlled by the front desk and the windows to the room were locked, which meant there was no air circulation at all in the room, unless the mini split was turned on by the front desk. We requested the front desk turn the air on several times and they were not able to do that. My advice is that you will have a very good experience at this hotel as long as you book an upper level room!!

This hotel is in a great location for a few days in Amsterdam. It is close to the tram but you can walk everywhere to the major attractions and there are lots of local bars and restaurants nearby. The staff are lovely and exceptionally helpful - friendly and welcoming. The rooms and breakfast area is immaculately clean and newly renovated with a great shower. The rooms are very small and the bathroom tiny but if you are in Amsterdam to see the sights rather than stay in a hotel, it is perfect. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.

Great location for easy walking to all of Amsterdam’s sites. There is an elevator which is great! Room is a bit small but it’s Europe! Will say the rooms got hot and it was April. Overall would stay here again if in Amsterdam!

The hotel is relatively new and everything is quite clean and in good condition. The staff were all kind and genuinely hospitable. The room is compact but comfortable. I didn’t get the breakfast, but they offer free use of their coffee machine all day & that saved me quite a few euros. This hotel is a great stay - especially for the price.

It was in a terrible neighborhood where I didn’t feel safe at all. I had to leave nearly immediately. I’m not pleased with the fact that I didn’t get ANY refund whatsoever through Expedia. I will NEVER book a hotel through Expedia again. I’ve been ripped off more times than not since I’ve used this app. I may use it to find things to do in places I will visit but I’ll go to the site directly to book. Not through here unless it’s foolproof.

Both receptionists I met were very polite and helpful, especially the one who checked me in. The hotel location is very convenient for the museums I wanted to visit. The room and the bedding were very clean. Plus, the hot drinks are complementary and available 24/7. However, there was some funny smell in the bathroom that wouldn't go away, and the shower was just a trickle of water! If I had more hair on my head, I would have struggled to wash out the hair conditioner. But overall, quite a decent stay, although not the best value for money.

Amazing experience, very friendly staff and perfect location. Not far from amsterdam central and many shopping places near the areas. Bus stop near by that takes you straight to the airport no need for cab.

We only stayed for 1 night but was lovely stay had everything we needed for the night, clean and modern style the only thing I would say is if your staying on the floor downstairs you could hear the chairs scratching the floor when people moved them which was a bit annoying at breakfast time when your still trying to sleep.

I got the room that was pictured when I booked. I knew it would be small but I was only planning on sleeping in the room not much else. That was completely fine by me. There is a lift but please note you will have to carry your cases up a few stairs before you are in the hotel. Staff were very helpful with giving directions. The tram number 12 from Central Station stops at the bottom of the road. You can use the same tram to get to Albert Cuyp Market. The hotel is not far from the museums either you can walk or get a tram. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance. There is a machine with drinks and snacks if the munchies strike at night. A short walk up the road there are some buses on Saturday there is bus that will take to Haarlem and it goes past a windmill. It takes longer than the train. I slept well I didn't find it noisy and I felt safe walking to the hotel at night as well.

I think that this hotel has bed bugs I stayed for two days and I have been bitten on the back of my head on my legs & feet. I don’t know how else this would’ve happened. I have seen other reviews online about similar incidence’s here, what I wish I saw sooner. Maybe people on shorter stays don’t notice as much but these are defiantly bed bug bites. Just be careful. I was in room 25 on the 2nd floor.

The property was adequately clean and close walking distance to many things. The staff was unhelpful in many ways. The shower drain was clogged and we had a lake in our bathroom with every shower. We literally walked on soaked towels during our stay. I notified the staff, but no one showed up to look at drain. They did leave towels at my request but did not remove the soaked ones! I requested a 6am taxi to train station and they put in the wrong time. I almost missed my train, it was pouring rain and Uber does not pick up in front of the hotel. I had to walk to an Uber meeting point with a large suitcase. I was soaked for the entire train ride. They never seemed apologetic or even bothered by their mishap. Location is good, service was poor. Small bathroom

I really liked the location of the hotel, it was pretty centrally located, it was an easy walk to public transit ride to get to where we needed to go. The hotel was cute, and nice. The staff members were really friendly. If traveling back to Amsterdam in the future, I would absolutely stay here again.

Very clean and friendly staff but we got placed in the basement of the hotel and could hear someone walking around the lobby all hours of the night. It is also in central Amsterdam and could hear outside noise for a while until it dies down in the night. Overall great stay except for the noise.

Hotel itself was ok. We had a basement room - very tiny but clean and comfy. Our flight was cancelled due to a ATC strike going on in Iceland. They were not understanding and we know we couldn't get a refund but asked if we could still stay for 2 nights and they said no - they would not apply that first night we lost to a second night there. We told them that we would be returning to Amsterdam in 3 weeks and would stay there if they would work with us. They did not - so when we returned, we stayed at another hotel. They were pretty far out from Center City so we didn't really get the taste of Amsterdam until we returned and stayed closed to the center of the city.

The location of the hotel is so good that we barely needed any public transportation for our 4-day stay to enjoy the city as a couple. The main tourist destinations are within walking distance, such as the Anne Frank House in Jordaan or the Van Gogh museum in the Museumsplein for - the accommodation lies conveniently in between them. In addition to that, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who also gave us valuable suggestions of restaurants and tourist attractions. The room was small, but cosy, with remarks to the awesome shower. Downsides were minimal, such as a little bit of noise during the night - there was an issue with the room telephone which sounded an alarm sometimes, probably due to bad contact in its wiring - but there was an easy fix to it (just mute it).

Location was perfect. The staff were fabulous! The rooms were comfortable and clean. The showers are definitely not water tight though...but that seems to be a reoccuring theme in Europe. So no points deducted for that :) All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
