Great area! Walkable distance to most activities but close to the train station for when you need to use it! Stairs are STEEP and right for big feet, but that’s expected in Amsterdam!

The property is in a great location in the city centre and close to Amsterdam Central Station. Decor is lovely in the bar /reception area. Our room was small but functional. Only negative was that our TV didn't work and the hotel staff weren't able to fix it for us. Not a big issue for us as we were out most of the day

Love staying at the old quarter hotel when i come to Amsterdam, I like to start and finish my long trips to europe at the hotel because it's super convenient to centraal station and fits in my budget better than other places. Besides the easy access to centraal station and all the other center city hubbub, the staff are amazing! I feel like family every visit. Thank you. You'll see me again next time! Oh, and make sure to get a canal room if you can. Amazing experience.

This hotel feels more like a hostel. It is in red light district and has lots of drunk and high men partying and smoking outside till all hours. Very convenient to train, but not great for families or older people. Very expensive for what you get. The breakfast is decent. Also, smoke from outside came inside room all night and made me nauseous. Very cool bar but drinks are quite expensive.

For the people who dont like this kind of atmosphere we would advise to choose accommodation in remoted from city centre areas. Near the Amsterdam Central Station. Nearby restaurants. Great location. Stairs are a little hard to climb and rooms aren’t as big. However, water heater is excellent.

Hotel good ideal breakfast good , central to everything rooms clean good facilities . Would not put anybody off from staying there . Disliked the manager on reception she did her job on check in ok no problems . But hate miserable people if she smiled her face would crack never acknowledged anybody .

Neat hotel, great reception & bar in the lobby... just one thing that grinds my gears - the wifi is not good, slow, sometimes disconnects. Other than that I enjoyed my stay there.

Was nice we didn’t really hang out at the hotel, just resting and cleaning up. Great spot nearby the main hub and train station. Pretty cozy except it was two twin beds pushed together.

Great location and character in old town
The room overlooking the Damrak and the canal was beautifully situated. The staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel was characterful. The cat, Mickie, was nice to have around as well! Really well located in near De Wallen, and it feels safe and a nice spot. Breakfast is good too.

This place was just what we needed. Brought my mom to The Dam for her first time so I wanted something comfortable with a solid location. This place is easily both. Clean and comfortable room, very pleasant staff and located near lots of really cool things to see. I highly recommend this place.

Very nice property. Was surprised that we were given a room across the street, but it was a nice and very spacious room. No elevator on that side but we managed. A little bit of street noise travels but that’s true for all places in the area. Would recommend.

The old quarter is simply the most interesting area for a cultural walk. Visually stimulating with so much going on. Only downside, was its very noisy from the street (poor windows) and neighbours - thin walls and noisy floors. Could the bathroom be any smaller?

Rated this hotel a 2 star as it should not be listed as a hotel but as a hostel. We checked in Saturday evening, which was fine. After we checked in and got to our room they informed us of a power outage that would occur -they already knew but didn’t tell us prior to check in. They said it would only be 3 hours. It was the entire night we had no power from around 9:30pm to 8:45am - the power was still out at 8:45am but we had left the “hotel” by this time. The “hotel” was clean enough however all the towels had rips and holes. The wifi also does not work unless you are in the lobby - it does not work in the room. The staff were only nice while running the bar, for checking in and out again only subpar. We needed toilet paper for the room and told us to take it here and for us to bring it up ourselves, even though we were leaving. Again, I wouldn’t mind to do this if I wasn’t paying a hefty price, for the price I expect a HOTEL service. The only good thing about this “hotel” was the location. Right beside the train station (5 min walk) right in a downtown core area. They also did not offer any type of compensation for the power outage. Just a sorry about that. Would not recommend, I would say it’s good for a solo traveller who doesn’t care about accommodations.

We are sorry for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay, it was very unfortunate that the power outage occurred, the reason was maintenance being done by the electricity company in the area, and almost all establishments in the area were affected. We are very sorry for that, but unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to prevent this from happening. As for the toilet paper issue, toilet paper is refilled daily in the room, we are more than happy to provide as many as you need, and if you are heading out, you can always ask our staff to bring it to the room for you. Once again we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay in our hotel.With kind regards,
