The staff was amazing. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. Location was excellent. Right in the center of the old city so walking everywhere was very easy. View out out window of the canal, first rate!!

If you don’t plan to spend a lot of time in your room and you don’t go in the summer, this is your place. It is an old building but very clean. Rooms are just big enough for the beds and maybe a chair but the bathroom is modern. There is NO room air conditioning which I did not realize but we had a canal view room and opened the large windows which made it perfect.

The room was clean but had a musty smell. There is an elevator which is good since Dutch stairs are scary. The location is great and the neighborhood is very walkable. The front desk staff was exceptional, very knowledgeable and helpful. This was true of everyone I interacted with while I was there.

This property was very centrally located, and the staff were extremely accommodating. They even opened the kitchen after hours for us. It was a quick walk to everything whether a tour, dinner or excursion. Would stay there again.

Front desk staff SUPER friendly!!! We had the most amazing time. Super convenient area, walkable to so many parts of Amsterdam, the rooms super comfy, clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Canal view was a huge plus. Definitely recommend. Close to Tulip Market and cheese tasting and souvenir, thrift, specialty shops.

Great location, hotel room itself a little worn. One thing I can’t figure out is the shower- it’s just one big floor in the small bathroom so there is no way to take a shower without flooding the whole bathroom! With that said, the reception staff could not have been more attentive, friendly, helpful, and personable!

Amazing stay! Everyone is so friendly. The rooms were very clean and the staff was attentive to all of our needs. Because of the great location in Centre Amsterdam, the room was small; we were fine with this aspect. We booked this hotel, because of location, but the hotel was awesome. The hotel location was amazing if you are looking to be in the heart of Amsterdam and the canals. The front desk staff was so inviting and helpful for new travelers like us. Hotel New was a PERFECT hotel for my recent visit. I was staying by myself and looking for a safe, clean hotel that was walkable to Amsterdam Centrum. This was it!!! I was able to get a single room that was perfect for my needs. Walked the city for three days and easily took the metro and train when I went outside the city limits for the Euro Qualifier at Johan Cruijff Arena. Staff is friendly and gave great recommendations.

Lovely staff!
The rooms are small but cozy with large windows. If you're overlooking the canal, you may want a white noise machine as the street can occasionally be noisy at night. I never had any trouble sleeping, but I could see it being busier on the weekends. Still worth the view in my opinion! The real star was the staff member at the front desk. He was born and raised in Amsterdam, and he had wonderful tips and knowledge about the city. Plus, the hotel is right in the middle of everything, making it easy to walk around and catch the metro. Excellent stay!

Basic room, perfect for a solo traveler. I booked the room with the canal view, it was lovely! Great location, safe area and quiet. the carpet does look a bit wore down, but room was clean. The gentleman who works the night-shift, friendly and helpful, the girl who booked the taxi, and changed the time for me, twice! -thank you! I will stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Overall, it was OK. The location is very good. Some of the staff was very nice so I was a little strange and the little less helpful than I would’ve hoped. The room was the size of a postage stamp and the twin bed was not particularly comfortable, way too soft.

The property is nice and updated. Location is convenient. Outside can be loud, but what can you expect from staying in a city. Staff were very courteous and friendly. Can’t get over the fact that I found bugs crawling on my luggage two days in a row. It’s true that these bugs could have came from the plane, airport or even Uber, but I still found them in the hotel room.

I would stay here again and again! Once you get your bearings, you aren’t far from shopping, food, bars and the central station. The people are helpful; if you have the breakfast included option, it’s delicious, hot and plentiful. The Amstel Canal is right there, so pretty.

Wonderful warm welcome. Beautiful room with canal view. Loved chilled water offered in reception. Fluffy white towels, comfortable bed and very clean room. Amsterdam was particularly (and unexpectedly hot during out visit), so room would have benefited from air conditioning. Other than that a perfect stay.
