“Cental to everything and friendly staff”
Really enjoyed our stay there. From front does not look like much but rooms are comfortable and clean. Although around the weekend it is quite noisey outside till about 2am. This would definately not stop me from staying there again.
“we called it our little flat”
we loved our room. It was very large with a warm feel to it. The staff were very helpfull and friendly. I would defenity go back again.
“We would stay here again”
Yes, the entrance is not impressive, the stairs are steep (in keeping with the age of the building, this is traditional) and weekend patrons can be noisy (not the hotel's fault). Having said that, the hotel is very clean; the room, although minimalist was adequate - clean and warm with en suite (tissues, shampoo, soap and shower gel supplied), fresh towels every day and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
“Does exactly what it says on the tin”
Very satisfied with this wee gem - nothing fancy but for 2 stars what do you want! Room very clean, comfy bed fully functional toilet with shower - if you are not fussy about hotel facilities like a bar, pool table and stuff and just want somewhere decent to rest your head then this hotel fits the bill. I would certainly return for a stay.
“Reasonable choice”
Can't beat the location. It is clean and the bathrooms have been renovated. The staff is polite and helpful. Wireless Internet works but encryption is enabled, get the codes at the front desk. It is true that the stairs are steep, but how often do you need to go up? Little things that they should add: more hangers, towel hooks on the bathroom, "Do not disturb" signs.
“Amsterdam”
Did not have a light in the bathroom. Asked for it to be fixed but was not done. Lucky we had a torch! Otherwise good location and satisfactory hotel.
“Basic but clean and in a fab location”
You get what you pay for and this hotel isn't as bad as I'd thought it would be after reading other reviews. It was basic but clean. Some staff were friendly others weren't interested but i'd stay there again. Great hotel if all your looking for is somewhere to sleep.
“Brilliant Location”
A small sized hotel right in the middle of Amsterdam - Was about a 3 or 4 minute walk from Amsterdam Central- There were 5 of us staying in one room and there was still plenty of room. TV, shower, a safe in the room and clean sheets / towels both days of our stay
“Not Impressed”
It is a small hotel with a great location, very close to the train terminal, you have to go up some stairs to get to the reception enjoyed the free complimentary breakfast, TOO MANY STAIRS but it was good exercise. There was No internet at the time (they were fixing it), or phone in the rooms but it was quiet at night so we could rest.
“Value for money!”
Can't go wrong with booking this hotel. The only problems we had was the shower head wouldn't stay upwards by itself when showering and the tv didn't work (not that you go Amsterdam to watch TV of course though!). The stairs are steep and tight so expect to trip a couple times on the way upward after a few beers and just remember to concentrate on your way back down. Apart from that, the hotel is perfectly situated right between the Red Light District and the shopping district and only a 5 min walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station. The rooms are a decent size, perfectly accomadated the 3 of us and the decor looks alot better than alot of other 2 star hotels. If your going Amsterdam and don't plan to spend too much time indoors and want the ideal location for a nice price, then look no further.
