Great stay! Pool was amazing, location was close to town but not in the middle of it. Food at the resort was mid. But everything else was top notch.

The staff was magnificent the rooms was immaculate the property was very very well kept we enjoyed the pool area and the people that vacation there as well was very very nice I give her 10 out of 10

The hospitality was unmatched at the property. The staff was amazing and property was amazing. The breakfast was very good and the pool was gorgeous. The staff was very attentive and catered to our every need. Thanks to Oscar, Alfred, Stewy, and crew for making my birthday so special.

Amazing hospitality. No BS, everyone at the resort were so friendly, helpful and always willing to chat and ask about your day. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Loved having everything in the room & on the property. From bottle opener & to delicious well prepared meals onsite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean & well equipped. The hotel is about 45 minutes away from downtown via golf cart but I planned accordingly and enjoyed onsite and nearby amenities. Front desk main staffer. I cannot remember his name but he guided and helped on every topic, even prior to arrival! He was the best & I’m sorry I cannot remember his name. He made our stay phenomenal.

Portofino is a beautiful, quaint little resort. We have stayed in their small cabanas a number of times. They are rustic and simple. The resort grounds include a lovely salt water pool, a dock, a small reception area, a small outdoor bar with a beautiful patio under large sea grape trees as well as a restaurant above the reception area that overlooks the gorgeous sea and barrier reef. Overall, it is simply beautiful and relaxing. The frontline staff are phenomenal, truly great and caring human beings. They really make the stay very special. This July 2026 stay, however, we experienced a few disappointments in comparison to past stays. The restaurant food was not as good overall as we have experienced in the past. Most disappointing in respect to the amenities was the removal of the water taxi as an option for going into San Pedro or to other resorts. We were truly saddened not to have that available given how far Portofino is from the city. The biggest challenge, though, was the lack of available beach front and ocean water. While not a reflection on the resort itself, the large amount of seagassum was disgusting and the smell sickening. Sadly, it extended out past the end of the dock.
