I'm very sorry to have to give a negative opinion but our room very much needed updating and the toilet did not work properly. When we told staff they said they were sorry but it was the whole 3rd floor. Our room was advertised as a "city view". We don't much care about views but we overlooked a filthy roof with garbage on it and a wall. The lobby is beautiful and we did not have a chance to use the spa or the restaurant but hallways and elevators needed renovations or a deep cleaning at least. This is not an inexpensive hotel and we did not book one of their most expensive rooms. The location is excellent right on king street and the valet and doorman were very wonderful, friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful historic hotel. We love staying in these and truly hope changes are made to bring it up to the standards it deserves.

Extremely noisy. If you don't mind street noise, fire engine sirens, motorcycles, loud music and basically not sleeping throughout the night due to noise then this is the hotel for you. Windows are so thin I had to check to make sure they were closed. Terrible night stay.
